We stayed here in February for a weekend and it was a very relaxing stay. Very helpful and attentive staff in a tranquil environment.

Before you turn into the hotel entrance you might worry that the hotel would be noisy from all the traffic and bustle around the lake, but no, once inside the hotel grounds all the noise seemed to disappear. The hotel grounds were lovely and the outdoor pool looked amazing; unfortunately the weather was too cold to tempt me to try it when we stay. The indoor pool was however lovely and the spa rooms look amazing!

We ate several meals in the hotel and all were very nice. I'd definitely recommend the hot chocolate, cookies and brownie in the lobby bar if you are in need of an afternoon boast too!!

Our room was very large and nicely furnish. The bed was amazingly comfortable which made for a couple of great nights sleep; especially as the room had amazing blackout curtains.

Overall a lovely hotel where we had a great weekend relaxing.

We stayed here during the Soft opening days back in January 2011 and I've been meaning to write this review for a long time, but never had time until today. Really, really exceptional suites and food.

Both at breakfast at WLB (West lake Bistro) and Jin Sha. Jin Sha's decor, food and service were truly exceptional. Having lived in Hong Kong before, I found that Jin Sha's food is better than many of the top dining spots in Hong Kong with amazing peking duck, dim sum and crazy good wasabi prawns! 3 years later, I can remember everything!

The private rooms that you walk through are some of the most lavish and beautifully designed private event spaces that I have ever seen! Really, really gorgeous - the wallpaper and all the details were astounding!

The only negative that I have which left me with a slight bad taste were the Front Desk staff/concierge services. They obviously marked-up the taxi services by a massive 3-4 times compared to a regular taxi (even though you got a regular taxi from Four Seasons anyways, but you have to pay the Four Seasons price). Not sure if Four Seasons management are aware of this shady business. They should really publish the rates to their guests.

Beautiful landscaped gardens in the middle of west lake area. Very peaceful and serene. The rooms are quite large, but the decor is a little too 90s for my taste and considering the price. Had a great balcony overlooking gardens. Breakfast is average - not much selection - and the dinner restaurant required very long wait. Staff generally tried to be helpful but quite clueless - took 20 minutes to get you a taxi. I ought to to think there are better choices in Hangzhou.

i was debating whether to stay at the four seasons or the amanfayun and decided on the former. i'm actually very glad i did. i did have all my dinners at amanfayun though as the food is better or at least more unique there. i have read earlier reviews that the four seasons property was tacky but i didnt see that at all. the location is perfect, right on the west lake. the grounds was beautiful with well manicured gardens amidst chinese pavilions. the infinity pool looks like it's an extension of the west lake. the spa was very beautiful the service was excellent, in fact i didnt know that there was a direct flight from hangzhou to hong kong and i left one of my suitcases at the waldorf astoria shanghai. the concierge was really helpful and sent a staff to shanghai to pick up my luggage for me (at a cost of course but still saved me a lot of headache) the food at the chinese restaurant was very good. the bed was extremely comfortable, even better than the normal four seasons standard. highly recommended.

Dear Guest, our upmost gratitude towards your liking of our hotel’s location and room facilities. Our outstanding outdoor pool is inspired by infinity pool and with just an alley from Yang Gong Causeway, guests can feel as if they are swimming freely in the West Lake. Hangzhou has 13 flights from between Hangzhou and Hong Kong every week, it’s very convenient for international guests who come from overseas, We look forward to your next stay with us.

This was our fourth stay in 2 years since its opening. The hotel is on a quiet inlet on the shaded shores of Xihu; the architecture is Tang in dark subtle hues although the buildings were brand new. Old trees & established gardens on expansive landscaped grounds surround the hotel like a private sanctuary although it's close by main traffic & the Lingyin Temple nearby.

Service is of 4 Seasons standard which is a rarity in the PRC. Although Hangzhou has plenty of good restaurants, the Chinese restaurant Jinsha in the hotel was our repeated choice due to its food, ambience & service. Highly recommended.

I was there for a weekend and I must say it could really be the best hotel among all of the hotels I've stayed in China. First of all, it is just located besides West Lake so you can walk to the lake in a very short time. The guest room is very large with a nice balcony and an outdoor yard where you can have a seat to enjoy the fresh air. The room provides Nespresso (which is a must for most of the 5-star hotels now) and some good quality tea bags. The TV set in a rising platform which can be hidden in a closet when you don't need it. And the public facilities such as bar, restaurant are also very nice. It is worthy for a couple to enjoy a nice weekend in Hangzhou.
Make sure you book the SPA earlier and try to have the very localized "Long Jing Tea SPA" treatment. That's very much a Hangzhou-only treatment I believe.

It was my wife and my third visit to Hangzhou, and we decided to explore some new lovely hotel. The Four Seasons Hotel, completed about two years ago had ahigh reputation for beauty and comfort. We booked through the internet and received a good rate for our stay of three nights, arriving there on the 15 November 2012.

There was ample private parking outside, and well designed lobby. The building was very spacious, and we had to walk some 15 mins to the dining room and were serve very well. The cuisine was lovely Shanghainese food and other delicacies.

The pagoda style building had lovely flowers..even though it was late autumn and early winter. We love the hotel's own lakeside lakes, with the mist and rain over weeping willows and winter flowers. The place was very serene and peaceful.

The way to our comfortable bedrooms was some 10 mins walk ..but once in...we just enjoyed the luxurious new design..disappearing TV sets...and comforts.

Being near to the West Lake , our guide took only fifteen minutes to the Guo Villa to enjoy the morning scenery.

This is definitely a place for a quiet retreat, reflection and peace.
