“A nice ancient place with a touch of the modern”
Reviewed May 30, 2014

This place has a certain charm about it, the ancient buildings and all. The setback is that it has become a tad too commercialised. I suppose life must move on even for the Chinese and there is no reason why they have to stand still in time just so that we foreigners may have a glimpse of how their great grandpas lived. Fair.

“Souvenirs shopping”
Reviewed May 15, 2014

Lots of shops selling Long Jing tea, have a sip and try out the different types of tea, some of them are selling at CN$10 per 50 grams, extremely affordable!
Lots of chinese medicine shops as well, walk into the small alley you will see some tranditional buildings of old Song/Ming/Qing dynesty, sometimes they will have photographic competition as well. Go have a look!

“Great place for evening”
Reviewed April 18, 2014

Went to take a stroll on this street after dinner. (Tip: have dinner on the street parallel to this one, there's over 20 different Chinese restaurants to try their local foods). Plenty of little shops and activities. Stay away from 10 Yuan products!

“Lots of things happening here!”
Reviewed January 22, 2014

It is a long looooong walking street which combines shops, and shops and shops… basically you can shop the souvenirs till you drop. You could find lots of traditional Chinese arts here. You should try to bargain for the price since this is a tourist place.

There’re lots of restaurants here that you don’t have to worry about long shopping street and die from hunger.

I like the atmosphere here. It is like the local and the tourists can share the enjoyment together.

Cheers

D
