Large rooms, great facilities, excellent breakfast. The staff is spot-on, always friendly and helpful. Even the guy flagging down a taxi for me took time to ask about my stay and say he hoped to talk more tomorrow. You can't really overstate how helpful touches like that are when you're traveling. Overall a great stay for the price. If there's anything against this place it's the distance from tourist activities. Dinner by West Lake wasn't too bad though, maybe a 15 minute ride or so. Just depends on your preferences. If you want to be in the middle of all that then the Intercon may not be the best choice. But if you prefer a quiet, comfortable place to retreat to and escape the tourists after fighting through them all day, then you can't go wrong here.

The total facilities are quite good, from lobby to room.

and the view will be great if you chose the room facing to the river.

Breakfast is good with massive choices, only problem is the place is too small to afford much people.

The pool is on the top of the hotel, good design but the length is too short.

The location is not that convinience, hard to take a taxi.

I moved from the Hyatt to the Inercon when it opened last year. The hotel is very unsual being a sphere but it makes for a dramatic looking hotel inside and out.
If you are going to Hangzhou for pleasure i wouldnt recommend the location as it is a good 20 or 30 mins to the west lake in traffice, but if you are coming on business then definately a great place to stay.Rooms are lovely and are very well appointed.Great pool and gym.
One of the best breakfast buffets i have seen in china and the other restaurants are all good.
I stay in an exec room and they have a lovely exec lounge although and a great place to work and have a drink in the evening.

- The guest room is spacious and a twin room can well accommodate our family with 2 adult + 2 children.
- The complementary DVD player and hi-fi system keeps our children busy and happy.
- The only drawback for our trip is its location, since it is several Km away from the West Lake where we spent most of our trip. Traffic in the city is rather congested during the day.

This hotel is by far one of the best hotels i've ever had the pleasure of staying in.

Me and my boyfriend are currently located in Xiasha and wanted somewhere to stay for a getaway weekend, that was a little closer to Downtown and West Lake. It took us about a 15 minute taxi journey for us to get to where we wanted, so not at all expensive!

Upon arrival, we were in absolute amazement. The exterior is magnificent and of course the interior too.
Staff were welcoming and helpful, everyone stopped and smiled and said 'Hello, good afternoon'.
During check in, we had a slight hiccup, as they asked for our Passports and Visas, but we didn't have them on us, fortunately we got it sorted, and the staff even treated us to a complimentary drink whilst waiting.

The room was clean, tidy and very impressive. It was everything we wanted and more. We even had complimentary chocolates waiting for us!
The bathroom was sublime. It even has a built in television in the wall so you can have the luxury of watching the television whilst soaking in the tub.
There are limited channels available for Westerners, but nothing to complain about. They have BBC News, Discovery Channel, National Geographic and MTV, as well as others.

The choice for breakfast was great. We opted for the 168RMB continental breakfast which includes: 1 choice of fruit juice (fresh or non), 1 hot beverage, 2 eggs cooked the way you like, 3 meat/other options (pork sausage, chicken sausage, bacon, ham, grilled mushrooms, grilled tomatoes, hash browns) and 3 bakery options (croissant, brioche, blueberry muffin, sugar glazed donut, plain bagel, wheat toast, white toast, pan au chocolat, soft bread roll, hard bread roll). They also have other options including Corned Beef Hash, Eggs Benedict, Breakfast Steak, Cereal and so many more, the list is endless (as well as non-Western options).

The concierge, Colin, will definitely make your stay that extra bit better. He and his other colleagues will do anything for you, and try their best to make your visit memorable.
If you're in need of a taxi, let the Concierge on duty know, and they will organise it for you. Just let them know where it is you're heading and off you go.
If you're going to a restaurant, and you have no reservation, they will also ring up the hotel and let them know you're coming so they will be expecting you.

Overall, this was a wonderful stay! And I definitely recommend anyone to stay here, you will thoroughly enjoy it.
