The ticket costs around 25-30Yuan. The park is not as huge as other parks in Kunming (for example, the Yunnan Minorities park in the south) and has some rides and entertaining stuff for children.

A big park in the western suburb of Kunming. Ticket required.
The most popular part of the park is the 'Daguan Lou' building, which was built in Qing Dynasty. It is one of the 'top 10 famous building' of China because the longest antithetical couplet is on the two sides of the main gate. You need to buy another ticket at this gate if you want to enter this building. Actually there's no need to enter the building because its enterior is much better than its interior.

Visited daguan park and daguan tower in December, the main attraction was more of the seagulls here to visit for the winter. According to our guide, the gulls were from Sybria, so they would probably be here only in winter. The gulls are not afraid of people, and feeding is welcome. The many birds also bring many piles of white bird faeces. This spot has a lake similar to the one at xihu, and the sanyuetan are constructed almost identically, but on a smaller scale. The tower was not as high as expected, and the view was not as exciting as expected, but it is known for being one of the greatest 5 towers in China, due to the two writings at the front, for being the longest of the good lyrical poems. Overall, good experience!

Strange Tripadvisor name. This review is about Daguan Lou Park 大观楼公园。Was there yesterday. The seagulls have arrived from Siberia. You can feed them bread scraps from your hand.

Quite a few attractive traditional buildings built near the water (Lake Dian 滇池。) Bus 100 goes here. You can take it from the 梁家河车场 stop of Metro Line 3.

Admission is now 26 Yuan for adults. This is a nice place to come in February when they have displays of tulips.

Walk around, read a book, play cards, drink tea. There is a concession area near the exit with a dozen eating places including a McDonald's that will be opening soon.
