“Take the cable car up!”
Reviewed October 29, 2013

Enjoy the 25mins cable car ride up the Western Hills and then you will enjoy the leisurely walk back down at the end of the visit. The cable car travels at a steady pace and offers amazing views. Photographs are automatically taken just before you reach the top and are ready for to view as you leave the cable car. At a cost of ¥20 /£2 they were good value and a great memento. You will see pagodas, Buddhas and caves on the way to the Dragon Gate. It is essential to touch the top of the gate for future good fortune! Take your time and enjoy!

“Great views!”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

Beautiful views and a lovely series of trails at the historical sight. Again, like so many "historical" places in China, having a guide is very helpful to tell you the story. Everything in China has a story!!

“On top of Kunming”
Reviewed October 11, 2013

Perched about 500 metres above the city. Accessed by gondola (Poma, and in good condition) and then a 2 seat chair lift of doubtful vintage. However, appears safe and well maintained. Lovely walks, lots of steps, well presented. Clean and tidy. Lots of toilets.
coffee and little english, but pointing and gesticulating still works well.

“FUN day TRIP”
Reviewed October 6, 2013

You have wonderful views of the Green Lake, especially if you take both cable cars to the entrance. A bit pricey and crowded on weekends, but worth a visit.

“A moment to relax”
Reviewed September 30, 2013

The hike to dragon gate is not difficult, but be little careful with the steps. There is a tunnel carved into the stones leading to the gate, what I like is that you can already smell the burning incense coming from the gate. The gate is small, with a great view of the lake. Take a moment to look at the beautiful stone carving, and de-stress.
