i booked this hotel on-line for one night and at £45 this seemed a good deal.could not believe how great our room was.very well kitted out and a bathroom which was great. very close to tourist bus stop for warrior visit. about 40 minutes from xian north train station. taxi should cost no more than 40 yuan.do give this hotel a try it was great.

Room tip: ask for a room on a high floor where there will be less noise.

The hotel is well located: it is near the railway station (not the railway for bullet trains though) and in the inner wall of Xi An. There are some mini-markets around, but not good restaurants and sightseeings (except the wall itself).

For the terracota warriors, you will need either a tour van or a bus as the place is 1h from downtown. For nightlife attractions (i.e., muslim street, bell tower) you will need a 15min bus ride or a cab.

The hotel rooms are 5-star: shower+bathtub, large bed, desk with free wifi. Hotel staff speaks moderate English - enough to get by.

If you are planning a one-full day in Xi An for tourism (as it seems most people do), the hotel is a good option. Just choose one walking distance the Bell Tower if you mind taking cabs/buses even for shopping places and major night attractions.

Tip: if you are coming by plane, look for "Airport bus" ticket counter inside airport terminal and purchase a ticket to Railway station. It costs RMB25 and goes directly to Railway station, 5min walking to the hotel (you will pass by the hotel).

I loved the location of this hotel. I caught airport bus Line 5 which is labelled Xi'an Railway Station. It costs 25 CNY. It actually dropped me off at the Louhai hotel which is on the same street as the Grand Soluxe. You can see the Grand Soluxe hotel as soon as you pass through the city wall and all you have to do is cross the street when you reach the Louhai Hotel and walk back a couple of blocks. I used the big pedestrian crossing at the crossroads to keep things safe !!

The hotel is also adjacent to the Xi'an railway station so was very easy to catch the 306 or 915 buses which leave from outside the Railway station to go to the Terracotta Warriors. I found the 306 the quicker of the two. They both stop at the hot springs on the way. The 306 is 7 CNY and the 915 is 8 CNY.

Conveniently outside the hotel is a host of bus stops. You can catch either the 30 or the 5 to go the the Big Wild Goose Pagoda for 2 CNY.

You can also catch the 251 or 201 for 1 CNY to the Bell Tower and then walk into the Drum Tower and Muslim Quarter.

I did not eat at the hotel so cannot comment on the food. I ate next door at Wei Jia which was clean, cheap and tasty.

I recommend this hotel as it has lovely rooms, helpful staff and is clean throughout.

This hotel was booked as part of a group tour. Although the room was very nice and cozy there was no air conditioning and we suffered through temperatures of 27 - 28.5c both nights we were there. In fact, the temperature went up as the night went on. Opening the window didn't help as the temperature was fairly warm outside and it just let in smog and noise. This was the 2nd hotel we stayed in on our tour with no working air conditioning (the other was in Beijing) and we were getting exhausted from lack of sleep. If China wants tourists they have to do better in accommodating us. Breakfast was good and the hotel is well situated within the city walls.

Excellent location, near to the station. Walking 5 minutes from the station. Modern, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was superb. Staff was good and helpful. Around 20 minutes walking to the drum tower and bell tower and fortified wall. Good wifi. Good rooms. Must stay.
