35y entry each and that included a ten minute drum show on every hour except 12 and 1. Unlike the drum tower in Beijing this was an exhibition of Chinas drum history showing many different types of drums. Definitely worth the yuan if you see the show as well.

The Drum Tower is a wonderful restoration. With great views of the Bell Tower, and live drum shows several times a day, it is well worth a look. Sadly, the rest of the city doesn't do the balconies justice, as there isn't that much to look at, but if you have an hour or two to spare, it's well worth it.

Situated in the Muslim district of Xi'An, surrounded by amazing market streets. The view from the balcony is brilliant, overlooking the swooping rooftops of Xi'An, the bell tower can also be seen; if you only have time to visit one of the two then the drum tower is the better option as it is bigger, more accessible and has a fantastic drum performance. The artefacts in the tower are very interesting but the gift shop is very overpriced - buy your souvenirs in the surrounding markets where you can haggle. Worth a visit.

I loved Xian for having many of its old places still intact especially within the wall. The bell tower and the drum tower are obviously a big part of that. It was fun seeing all the different drums. I particularly liked the stroll through the market right next to it and the view from the top. It is well worth the visit especially if you buy the double ticket with the bell tower. Starbucks is close by between the bell tower and the drum tower!
