“not bad value if you need Western food in Xi'an”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 12, 2012

Compared to some 'posher' Western-style (ultimately fake) restaurants in China, Pizza Hut is actually quite under-rated. There will be travel purists who sniff at even contemplating eating a pizza in China when there's so much else on offer, but if you live here, as I do, then sometimes you just need a bit of pizza to remind you there's more to life!
The reviewer who said it depends where you go is absolutely right. I'd recommend the Xiaozhai one too, as well as South Pagoda, but steer clear of the Qujiang one as they tend to be a bit clueless.
The reviewer who said the menus are not in English is categorically not correct, there's English all over them, so I don't know where they were looking! The staff also speak pretty functional English, so really no need for animal noises!
All in all, a decent meal for two with drinks will be 120-130rmb, so a better and more filling option than a 'posh' western place elsewhere in the city.

“It depends on which branch you visit...”

The Pizza hut in Gao Xin doesn't have the best service (the waiters usually argue about who is going to serve the foreigners), but the one in Xiao Zhai and at the corner of Wenyi and Youyi Lu is really good. The food is yummy.

“Ok Pizza, but no english on the menu and little spoken by staff”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 16, 2012

We went as we really craved Pizza and yes it does taste the same but they have different toppings to what they have at home. Also the regular size is not enough for two people. We had one each, unless you order somthing else too. The menu is really big and they dont just do pizza like at home. Bit on the pricey side but still not too bad. There are pictures on the menu, but trying to find out what was ont eh pizza is little hard as there is no english and the staff did not speak english. We started doing animal noises to work out what was chicken etc. Quite funny but worked!

“There is no reason to go to pizza hut as a tourist!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 16, 2011

My wife and went here primarily for the salad bar while we were living in Xi'An, because we missed crisp salad. HORRIBLY overpriced, and not very good selection at the salad bar. However, the pizzas did remind us of PIzza Hut back home in the states, but there's no reason to go here if you're a tourist. To the locals, it's a high priced treat, but I would sip it and go to any of the plethora of native places to eat.
