“Wonderful view of local and historical music and dance.”
Reviewed October 4, 2011

We only saw the show and didn't eat dinner. The show was excellent and the talent superb. Great coreography, excellent singers and dancers, great orchestra. Featured both ancient, traditional and modern musical instruments. A nice respite and change of pace in a hectic schedule.

“Huge variety of dumplings.Great cultural experience!”
Reviewed August 13, 2011

Dumplings keep coming to the table...pork, fish, duck, chicken, more pork, vegetable, more fish, more duck... And they are all shaped like ducks, chickens, but the cutest by far are the fish shapes.
Music and dance show was great. I enjoyed the musical selections more. One man uses his mouth as his instrument-and his humor. He was my favorite!

“Way above my expectations!!”
Reviewed August 1, 2011

I was a bit skeptical, because the dinner and show was an optional part of my group itenerary, but i was really impressed. The choreography, costumes, and music were captivating. The food was great--it was one of the better vegetarian meals we had in china (meaning they went over and above to accommodate special diets).

Now, i must say that i did see some of the older men dozing during the performance. It's only one hour long and full of dance and music, but apparently after a long day of touring, it can have an impact. Personally, i was embarrassed for the dozers, and i was fully engaged. Take that for what it's worth.

“Unexpected high quality of food and performances”
Reviewed April 12, 2011

Our driver (whom we 'picked up' when we came off the train in Xi'an Railway Station, arranged this evening of food and performances for us. We were looking forward to it as we knew they served dumplings (which we all love) and that there was a show of Tang era dances and music. We weren't expecting that much though as it seemed a bit 'touristy' at first. Well, touristy or not, the food was excellent and the dumplings tasted delicious and looked beautiful. The presentation was lovely and fish dumplings were shaped like goldfish etc. However, the best part were the performances which were extremely professional and all the performers were obviously highly trained and experienced. The choreography was excellent and when the show came to an end we were left wanting more. A definite must if you are in Xi'an.
