Just stayed three days at this Hotel for business. It opened in November 2011, so basically it is new. The check in was seamless. Modern and clean lobby with plenty of staff around. I like the idea of using your card key to activate the elevator but sometimes you forget and are looking in your pockets where you put the key.
This hotel is modern and reminded me of the W Hotel. Colors, mostly reds and blacks, everywhere. Rooms are a little small but comfortable.soft bed! So westerners can sleep reasonably well. Love the shower, walk in and with a rain head and plenty of pressure.
They have a club/ bar lounge on the 30th floor. Live band comes in at 9:30pm. Pretty slow, I guess because it's February and not much people around. My wife and I were the only one having a drink and I felt like it was a private concert. Morning breakfast was fine. Lots of choices and strong coffee.
Usually stay at Marriot. New Marriot in Xian was have opened by now but is behind schedule. Will be back in this city in May, so will try it out.
Swisstouches is a nice hotel. Not too much around the area. City wall is a distance and the terra-cotta soilders is a distance away. As of now, no concierge to make tours. So plan ahead.More
