“Actually on of the oldest and most interesting Mosques in the World! Don't miss!”
Reviewed July 9, 2013

People don't think about China as a place with very old Muslim sites, but this place is really a priceless one.

This Mosque's history goes back to the year of 742, that's just slightly over 100 years after Quran was written! Because Xi'an was an important point on the Silk Road, Muslim religion managed to reach this remote place in the very beginning of it's history.

Also, the architecture of this mosque is very unusual. It looks more like Chinese temple.

So the site definitely is worth visiting.

“Interesting culture site”
Reviewed July 6, 2013

After fighting your way through a very busy crowded market where one can be lost in no time, our guide showed us into this mosque, which after what we went through would have been quiet anyway. Interesting history and of course very Chinese influence which is great. We took photos of a bride and groom who were married there, now they were gorgeous!

“historical value is awesome”

Donna of China Odyssey Tours was awesome and she made our visit. She knew all the facts and peppered it with her dynamic sense of humor. Native of Xi'an and history major there is no one better connected.

“An interesting mosque”
Reviewed July 4, 2013

This mosque is in the middle of the Muslim quarter and is unlike any other Muslim mosque I've seen (it is very Chinese). It was very hot the day we visited but we enjoyed wandering around. The small guide book they give you at the entrance made it more interesting. A very serene place and worthwhile to see.

“Unlike any other mosque. Worth the stop”
Reviewed July 3, 2013 via mobile

This is a very unique mosque with such a strong Chinese influence in design and interesting to see. You cannot enter the prayer room but everywhere else you are free to roam.
