The market in the inner city is fascinating . Street vendors have foods of all types . There are lots of knock offs like Nike , Longchamps, uggs and Micheal Korrs. The vendors will bargain with you on a variety of items like jewelry, T-shirt’s, backpacks and clothes . In this area there is one of the largest mosques . About 1 % of the city population are Muslim but are mostly aggregated in this area. Most of the food is street vendors . This is an interesting area to people watch .

If you can't decide on where to eat, Muslim quarters is the place for you! A lot of food stalls and street vendors - they practically sell the same food (lamb skewers, noodles, fried octopus, etc) and all are very affordable and made to order. They also have souvenir shops and other things
Great place to people watch, sample different food, and just wander around

Had the best lamb sandwiches on the Muslim Street. It was a festival of sights, sounds, and colors. We feasted on various snacks and sweets, and visited the mosque which was relatively peaceful. This was my favorite part of the city.

Amazing choices of snacks if you are not squeamish! The best deep-fried squid I haver had.
Don't miss this street if you are in Xi'an. Ask your guide to take you there or take the subway.

Visited here in October and wandered around for about 1.5hrs amazed at some of the foods on offer. Loved everything on offer but we were warned not to try any as dinner wasn’t far away as part of our tour. A pity cause would have loved to try a few. Lots of colour, lots of noise. It’s what a food market is all about. Highly recommend a visit here.

Lots of food to taste and eat. Contrary to the warnings we got about snatch theft, pick pockets and unreasonable price of goods, the place is safe for a young lady/ middle age/ senior citizen to wander around for food feast and shopping. Majority of the shopowners are wonderful and an Uncle( a restaurant owner) even ran after us when we left some money for him coz we felt bad since only one out of 6 ordered food and he gave us hot tea for free. Thank you!

A night time visit to the Muslim quarter. Crowded, noisy but that is what it is all about. People vying with each other to make a living selling their goods. Very colourful and my wife and I enjoyed the atmosphere, a must see when in Xi'an. Many different items for sale here.

Interesting, but having lived in Malaysia a bit undeewhelimg. Interesting integration of Chinese and Muslim cultures. The mosque grounds are interesting, the Muslim Quarter is something a little different.

This is a bustling market with lots of street foods and knock-off products to buy. Lots of sights, sounds, and smells. The history of the area is very interesting. Be careful for pickpockets. We did not have any trouble, but this is the kind of place a pickpocket would be working.
