I was very impressed with the beauty of this structure, having walked from my hotel in order to see it. It was worth the walk. It towers high over Xi'an.

The view of the roads surrounding it is nice but other than that there is not much to see. Get a combi ticket with the Drum Tower to save some money.

This place is a wonder at night, it's simply wonderful, a must see place in Xi'an. Go in the tower (35 Y) and appreciate the full view of the roundabout.

Luckily we went up the tower on a relatively quiet day. We saw the queues on the next day and they were massive! There was a good view over the city and attractively decorated.

The Tower's enchanting wooden structure is the largest and best preserved of its kind in China.
The Bells in the Tower were rang in the morning to tell the time.
