In July this year during a holday to Xi'an I was fortunate to be able to visit
the Qinling Underground Palace in Xi'an as part of a day tour organised through reception at my hotel. The total cost of the day tour is 350CNY which includes a
nice lunch and visits to several other great tourist attractions including the Terracotta Warriors.
As you enter the building you ascend and decend a staircase to see a real array of minature
reproductions of Ancient Chinese settlements. Also there are various diaramas on display depicting historic events in Chinese history such as the building of the Emperors
tomb. The artwork in the exhibits is great and gives you a real insight into what life
was life during various dynasties especially slaves, more than 700000 of them were forced to work constructing the Emperor Qinshihuang's tomb.Unfortunately many of the exhibits are replicas of originaL
artefacts, which is a disappointment but in saying that the Exhibition Hall is historically interesting and well worth a visit! Andrew
