“Cleanest bathrooms in China”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2012

The food was average...reminds me of school cafeteria food. Guy making the noodles scratched his neck in between making the noodles.

I rated them average because they had the cleanest bathrooms in China...if you visited China you know how very rare this is.

“Bit of a tourist trap”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 26, 2012 via mobile

Before we got here our guide tried to convince us to include the show, but we declined. So we only got the food part, and it was the dumpling set menu. Some of the combinations used as fillings in the dumplings were interesting, but for the main part they were fairly tasteless and monotonous. The setting does little to enhance the experience, it's a large hall like eating area, and all the other guests are tourists, so you get the feeling you are part of a "tourist factory". I have to think there are better places to experience this type of food.

“Skip this. There's so much else to do in Xian”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 6, 2012

Even though we were seated at the front like VIPs, I say skip this and go explore Xian on your own. The food was not as advertised: the menu said shrimp and we got one piece of shrimp and one piece of chicken. The meal was mediocre. The entertainers were okay, but some frankly looked bored.

“Wow!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2012

This show is magnificent, with classical Chinese musical instruments, beautiful dances, and too many colors to describe adequately. Sadly, I was jet lagged and missed a little of the show, but my wife did a video of much of it.
Dinner consisted of a wide variety of the dumplings that Xian is famous for. Well prepared and presented. Also had a delicious sweet rice wine that we learned was what they called "farmer's wine" and is not what you can buy in stores.
I see several comments about unruly guests doing things like talking out loud and talking on their cell phone. That happened here, but it seems to be a pattern in China, so we did not let it bother us too much.
It did appear to us that our waitress was a little rude. We were placed at a table where other people were sitting, but they had been placed there accidentally. They had been nibbling on the appetizers, and we saw them drinking from the glasses. The waitress did not want to replace them and was quite obstinate. We spoke with the person who seemed to be in charge. They spoke with the waitress and she was more civil after that.

“A great performance”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 11, 2012

This was a great performance. People thought it better than the Peking Opera performance. We went only for the performance and not the dinner. Only bad thing were some unruly guests, one who didn't want to pay his bill and another who talked loudly on his cell phone during the final performance.
