This hotel was a big improvement from the one we had in Beijing during our tour of China. The room was really large with a huge bathroom with separate bathtub and rain shower type glassed in shower stall. We had a sitting area with a couch and flat screen TV and then an area for two beds with another TV. The beds were hard as a rock-- much harder than other hotel beds in China.

The breakfast buffet was big and had mostly Asian foods but enough for Western eaters who want a more Western-style breakfast. I can't really comment on the location since our guide and driver picked us up and we didn't deal with taxis or public transportation.

Our room was on a non-smoking floor and didn't smell like smoke at all-- much different experience than our "non-smoking" floor in our Beijing hotel.

Room Tip: We were on the 19th floor and it was smoke-smell free!

Most 4 star hotels in China have exceeded expectations, but the Xian Titan Times Hotel is not up to this standard. The rooms are spacious and nice, but the rest of the hotel is not first or even second class. There were numerous problems that we experienced that should have guests looking at other properties in Xi'an. As other reviewers have pointed out, there really is no such thing as a non-smoking room in this hotel. We had 2 hotel rooms, and both had a strong smoking smell. One room also had a very strong mildew smell in the bathroom. Another problem we had were fraudulent charges on our bill, and the lack of English communication at the front desk made it difficult to resolve. Guests must also be careful to have the 600 Yuen security charge voided from the credit card. This charge does not appear on the bill, and it was not voided or credited from our bill initially. Other problems included poor air conditioning, substandard internet access, very loud hallways, and a hotel far from the sites. There are better hotels in Xi'an.

Poor location far from shopping & sites. Service was grudging. No pool or workout room. Far below other hotels on tour.

Two nights here during our tour of China. The room was large, clean and spacious. Good ammenties. A bar with a player piano that was recorded by someone who didn'nt understand western music and just murdered the songs. Fun though to try to guess what was being played.
The large traffic circle by the hotel that we could watch from our room was amusing . I don't know how people survive in the traffic. Lots of interesting local flavour in the neighborhood, but little else near by like western food. I guess thats not what we went to China for, but it is a comfort. All in all nice hotel with some local flavour.

First, I would like to talk about the very very impressive rooms. Huge double room with a living room and a sleeping roo. Excellent bath. Nice furnitures. Really nice. Internet service howver is bad. Breakfast is Asian style. Many Asian food items but quite poor for western eater. This is however, typical to all Asia. Breakfast hall is too small for so many people. Hotel staff is very friendly but not very efficient. Just Ok, no more. Hotel is very clean. I did not like the 20 Yuan charge for the small water bottles. Location is Excellent. Just near the city's impressive ancient wall. Bottom line: very close to perfect. You will enjoy your stay here.
