“Well organize, good location, good service with tour guide...”

Flight to Guilin and arrived at around 9:00 pm. I've booked the airport pickup from Lijiang Waterfall Hotel and the car fee is RMB120. they also sent us a tour guide. She gave us a brief of the tour information and some suggestion of the tour in Guilin.

Oh, the weather at that night was good. The sky was clear and the moon is beautiful.

June 26, 2010
It was sunny day. The tour guide from the hotel took us to Yao Mountain. The cable car (this is a open type cable car, make you close to the nature). And then we went to the Ching Palace. It's a place where can understand the history of Guilin City. And there is a university in the Ching Palace. Many teachers from different country work here. They like this city.
After visit the Ching Palace, we back to the hotel, took a rest. And we cruised four lakes around the Guilin City at 16:30 pm at the port just in front of the hotel. It took us 1hr to cruising.
After cruising, we walk to the Congeey Restaurant which is next the hotel. They serve different kind of congeey and local delicious foods with a very good price. We order a medium seafood congeey, Oyster roast, buns filling with taro. So, we have time to take a walk in the Zheng Yang Walking Street. This is a commercial street for people shopping. You could have a fun here. There are many shop and restaurants here.

It was a cloudy day with shower. But it was comfortable, not too hot. It was a important day of our tour - Lijing cruising, Yangsuo Yulong River Drift, Shangri-La and the Show of Impressing of Liu Sanjie.
The trip was excellent. Even there was shower, but it really worth to go those places. You can get a different experience and different scenery that you had never seen in the sunny day.
White mist surrounding the green mountains. Just like paradise. The show was directed by the Chinese famous movie director - Zhang Yimou. There is a real scenery background with different color light. The singing, the performance is remarkable.
Back to hotel very late. Anyway it worth. Sweet dreaming.

Woke up almost lunch time. We walked to the Walking Street to have lunch. Then back to the hotel wrap up. Also booked the car sent us to the airport.

Well, this is all about my trip to Guilin. Hope that can help you to schedule your travel plan. Once you visit Guilin, you’ll never regret.

We had a terrible experience here with a racist assistant manager that was eventually resolved by the mgr, but the room was very hot, the beds hard as rocks and the worst breakfasts we had anywhere in China. Stay at the Sheraton!!!

We liked everything about the LiJiang Waterfall Hotel. This hotel is like an American Hyatt - superb in every way. You won't be disappointed here.

Staff was very attentive and helpful. The Concierge gave good recommendations and arranged a van and guide for us (for two days). There are many local ticket agencies that can sell Li River cruises, but we saw some of the ships! The boat that the hotel booked us on was very nice and clean. The food was very good and much more than we could eat. I would recommend booking through the hotel over shopping for a "discount" at one of the shops. The car and guide, 4 hour cruise, tour of Yangshuo, bamboo raft trip, assorted sightseeing and visit to "Shangri-La" was 500 RMB per person. The next day our car and guide took us to the Reed Flute Cave, top of the mountain overlooking the valley (on a ski-lift), boat tours of the lakes and rivers and a visit to the silk and pearl factories - all for 150 RMB per person. Lili was our very helpful guide.

Nightly at 8:30 the water show begins. Everyone goes outside to see the water cascade off the top of the hotel and down the back-side. To the right of the hotel is a very nice shopping street with restaurants, convenience stores, fashion shops, etc. And the world's smallest McDonalds.

The hotel has a "Western" restaurant where the breakfast buffet is served. It is expensive if it is not included in your room rate. The food is good though.

We had dinner in the Chinese restaurant in the hotel and it was very good.

This is a great Chinese hotel!

A big and spacious hotel with a few shops for those that need to shop in a hotel environment. We were upgraded to a spacious new room upon arrival which overlooked the market. Beds typically hard as in most of China!
Great local food available within a few minutes walk. River cruises can be boarded 2 minutes walk away.
Large dining area for breakfast with Chinese and western food very plentiful. The "hot" food was served somewhat colder than what we are accustomed to. Overall a great place to stay, the staff arent in your face but seem to get everything done quickly and efficiently.
Guilin is a good starting point to take a 1 day Li River cruise to Yangshuo.

Yes this hotel is in a great location. If you don't care about a rock solid bed then by all means this is a great hotel to stay at. If beds matter to you at all don't stay here. We had 7 people in our group and all of us complained about how hard the beds were. Made it hard to sleep at night. The breakfast was just OK. This was definitely the worst hotel we stayed at during our 2 week stay in China. The water show was OK, not the greatest, very commercial and you can see it if you are staying at any of the hotels in the area. It starts at 8pm. in the back of the hotel.

My family really enjoyed this hotel. From the aesthetically pleasant interior, to the spacious rooms, to the pool/jacuzzi with a stunning view of Guilin we really enjoyed our three nights here. We didn't splurge for the river view so we were in a room directly behind the waterfall overlooking the large city square, not as picturesque, of course, but, all in all, not a bad view, made for an interesting visual to watch the waterfall from the inside.
My one complaint is with the "hard sell" they give you for the hotel tour packages. I know they have to make money but I generally don't like tours and would have liked a concierge that could provide more of an overview of different ways to see the sights. For example, we eventually took the city waterway cruise and while on the cruise i noticed you could rent your own motor boat and explore on your own (and i'm guessing they are a fraction of the cost of the cruise); had I known that I would have much preferred this option, as it happens by the time we got off the cruise it was too late to rent these boats. In short, there has to be a way to balance the need to sell the hotel packages with the guests preferences

the hotel is in a great location in guilin since you are close to the lake and other main spots, as well to an area of restaurants and shops.on the other hand, the waterfall show is not really impressive and the beds are really uncomfortable.
