3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 7, 2013

in guilin, finding Indian food was surprising and great. the food of kali mirch is good. the best part is the cook and service, very friendly and helpful.
the restaurant was located just in the side lane of Sheraton hotel , about 100 metres from the main road.it is a food street mostly.
the prices are reasonable and the taste is o.k.the bears are cold and enjoyable. great small place in guilin for Indian food.

“Tasty food in this small restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2013

Having seen good reviews for this place, my husband and I went there for dinner on our first night in Guilin. There was a small party going on, but they still accommodated us. The lamb karahi and chicken curry were good, not too spicy, portions were average size and the naan bread was freshly cooked in the special coal oven called Tandoor. The mango lassi was not that good, the mango fruit content and the flavour was missing and it was too runny, not thick like it should be.
But it was a good experience to try our first Indian meal in China. There are no washrooms in the restaurant. The customers have to use the Food Court's washrooms round the corner.

“It's the closest you can get to authentic in China”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 21, 2013

Location: Address is not quite accurate. That is the address of the Sheraton Hotel however this restaurant is directly behind the Sheraton in Shangshui Street however the restaurant is part of the Zhengyang Pedestrian Street small food street. If you are at the start of the Pedestrian Street look for the Bank of Communications sign, you will see a door and it is right inside.

We ordered, papadam, chicken korma, butter chicken, raita, naan and a lassie drink. We can't complain about anything. The taste was as authentic as we have ever tasted. If we can be really critical, it would be that the naan was too heavy - it should be lighter but that is a small issue, it was still very tasty.

The chefs are from Nepal and they speak English as does the staff. If the only drawback I have would be the floor, it was sticky to walk on. Everything else was visibly clean.

“Great Experience at Kali Mirch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 14, 2013

The environment of this restaurant is great and the cuisine is so delicious. I ordered four dishes and asked to cook in the most traditional Indian style. The soup, the roti prata and the main course are all great. My friend and I are so happy that we can find such a restaurant in Guilin.
