Owner description: Resembling an elephant drinking water from the Li River with its long trunk, this hill towers more than 55 meters above the water.

“Beautiful Park”
Reviewed March 16, 2014

Beautiful little park in downtown Guilin. It cost a few yuan to get in, but its not expensive. Is possible to see Elephant Trunk Hill without paying, by peaking thru the bamboo that is planted around park, but then you would miss the walk and ideal view. It's an interesting hill that really does look like an elephant drinking water. Fun to get up close and see wall markings.

“An interesting natural phenomenon.”

I guess if you are touring the area one should see this and have your picture taken there. I would rather be a Cabo on the beach.

“Another natural feature”
Reviewed February 27, 2014

Worth seeing from the walkway beside the road above the river park. Not worth paying to go down closer.

“Nothing Great”
Reviewed February 22, 2014

You hire a boat for a tour to get close to the hill that looks like an elephant drinking out of the river. Due to low water conditions, it really did not have that look to me, just a big rock with a hole through it!

The boat trip was about 30 minutes long and the sights along the Li River were worth the effort and cost. (Cheap, too)

“You gotta see it”
Reviewed February 14, 2014

It is an important part of the culture of the area and is a quick go in and get out. It is quite beautiful and worth a stop but it doesn't take much time to check it out.
