The Hotel Bravo has rooms with lovely views, but we didn't get one. You'll have to ask. The rooms are clean and have a safe. Breakfast in the restaurant is very good - and there is a quiet bar which serves a very nice Great Dynasty wine and Tsing Tao beer. The staff was helpful. Every morning after breakfast we crossed the road and took a walk around the series of picturesque lakes in the centre of town. Everywhere people are doing their tai chi, or voice exercises and prayers. People will want to say hello, and are very friendly. But they do like to spit! This is a very noisy process and can be very off-putting, particularly if you are trying to eat in an outdoor restaurant. The centre of Guilin is lovely, and the Hotel Bravo is located right there.

Went with this hotel based on reviews from other tripadvisor posters. It was pretty much what we expected. Reasonably clean rooms, ok service, not too much english channels, great view with the waterfront - great for romantics.

Good concierge service.

This hotel is in a good position but I agree with the previous reviewer in that there are too many large tour parties.

I thought that the food was not great and would advise eating out at night.

We were a small group of eight and the two couples who did not have upgraded rooms had bars on the window and the view of a high wall topped with broken glass. One couple paid to upgrade as their room was so depressing.

This place is basically a giant factory for tour groups going to the Li river. The hotel and the rooms are worn-- it is simply an average place. For the price is is acceptable but there are probably better options nearby if you're willing to pay more.

Pluses:
1) Excellent english for China both at checkin and in the hotel's restaurants.
2) Wifi in the lobby

This is a great place, and an excellent location. In the middle of town, you can walk to the lakes (don't forget to ask a room with lake view!). clean rooms and a friendly staff

This hotel has a beautifuyl view across the lakes, especially if you get a room on the top floor with a balcony. Unfortunately it felt a bit more like a Spanish Hacienda than a hotel in China, and I went there to experience Chinese culture, not European. Having said that the food was excellent, and the hotel very pleasant, but beginning to look a bit 'tired'. Also, make sure you take your own hair dryer, theirs was useless.
