Stayed at the Bravo Hotel when travelling in China recently with friends. Comfortable room, lots of space, lovely view looking over the swimming pool, excellent breakfast. Good location. Really enjoyed the swimming pool and a lovely way to relax after a hard days travel. Good cocktails and the bar staff were very hospitable

Good quality hotel with good rooms and a very good breakfast service. The breakfast service was not as comprehensive as some of the other hotels that we used in China. Located on the lake in Guilin. Quite a variety of rooms with some having lake views.

Typical old worn hotel, but clean with good breakfast buffet. Small gym and small swimming pool, enough just for some relaxation, not for hard work out. Location is nice, almost near to city center, and on lake side, which is nicely highlighted at night time. Free wi-fe is working only on lobby. Stuff is polite and trying to do all what they can, all the time, as everywhere in Chinese hotels.

Room Tip: No matter where your room is located, hotel is situated on quiet place on lake side.

We experienced a very comfortable stay at the Guilin Bravo Hotel with its clean, non-smoking rooms and comfortable hard beds. Waking up after a refreshing sleep on a suitably hard bed is certainly one of the best measures of success that I am aware of and the Guilin Bravo hotel passed that critical criterion by a handsome margin.

A very fine hotel serving an excellent western style breakfast consisting of a large array of choices, sufficient to satisfy even the most fastidious of travelers. It is a fine quality hotel and we were pleased with all aspects of our stay there. Our time in China was strictly limited, but we could easily envision spending additional time at this unique hotel, had time permitted.

The location of the hotel was very good, with good transportation readily available. Just across from the hotel entrance is a beautiful park that winds majestically around the lake. It’s a beautiful place to spend walking in the early morning hours.

Services rendered by any of the large numbers of staff members is excellent. Most speak English well.

Very good experience with this hotel. I booked the Upper Level Floors for a rate compatible with Hampton Inn/Holiday Inn etc ($100 US per night). Rooms were bright, clean and very well appointed. Breakfast was extensive. Nice park across the street. Convenience stores close by.
Friendly and well polished staff. (Did not try the spa/gym..so no comments on that)

We had some mixed experiences with this hotel in regards to comfort and customer service. We had booked a non-smoking room through a broker and were assured a non-smoking room between floors 2-8 specifically by the broker. When we checked in, the desk staff assured us that they were providing a non-smoking room and then showed us to a room on the 9th floor which not only was a smoking room but also had interconnecting doors to the rooms on either side of the room (i.e. two interleading doors), a non-smokers worst nightmare. We complained and they upgraded us to the new tower with a non-smoking room. Score one for resolving the issue but minus one for misrepresentation.

The new tower rooms are large, well-appointed and very clean. Our only issue with the remainder of the stay was that we would wake up some time between midnight and 2:30 a.m. drenched in perspiration to discover that they had turned off the air conditioning despite the fact that even with air conditioning, the room temperature rarely fell below 26 degrees centigrade.

This required us to call the desk each night, and essentially argue with them until they would (a) acknowledge that they had turned off the air conditioning (as they would initially insist that it was still on) or (b) offer to send someone up to the room to show us how to operate it, or (c) an engineer to see what the problem was. Essentially they were leaving the fan on, but turning off the actual air conditioner/chiller to save money at night.

One of the most annoying things about the situation aside from the sleep interruption was the condescending tone of some of the desk staff who would either play the "the air conditioning is working you are too stupid to know how to operate it" (intimidation ploy) to the "oh, you don't need air conditioning because its cold outside tonight", the logic of which escapes us as we don't sleep outside their idea of cold can be between 23 and 26 degrees (with high humidity).

All in all, a hotel with great potential but be advised of these air conditioning issues. If you encounter this, insist that they turn on the air conditioning as the fan only will not cool down the room.

like the 'purple' color in everything...
room is spacious, toiletries complete, there is even a pretty comfortable lounge chair..
hotel is very centralised..within walking distance to the lake, shopping areas n many restaurants around
the breakfast spread is fantastic: from Chinese to Western to local..
with fruits, desserts, salads n all...
a must stay hotel if u are in Guilin
