We were assigned to this hotel as part of the tour package.
Room: The rooms were relatively old, the mattress was hard. Worse still, we had mosquitoes in our room (not sure how they got there in the 1st place). The only good thing is there is unlimited TV channels.
Breakfast: The breakfast buffet was not bad but it is mostly local cuisine. You can have a go at the Guilin Noodle.
Nearby: There are fruits stalls and food shops with walking distance. The restaurant named "Chunji" is a must try. A gives you a taste of local cuisine with high quality service!

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights, it was part of the package tour that we booked. The rooms were quite well-equipped but our main complaint was the air-conditioning. We were in Guilin in November but it was quite warm, about 28 celsius outside. There were 4 of us and we had 2 rooms. My brother's room was so warm and stuffy, they had to request for a change of room TWICE! Even then, the rooms never got colder. My room was only slightly better but it got worse on the 3rd night (which was strange because the temp outside was coolest then!). The tour guide later told us that the hotel seems to deliberately adjust the air-cond higher and even turns it off in the middle of the night .. to save on electricity costs!!

Breakfast is Chinese mainly with limited Western choices. The coffee is pre-packed 3-in-one and sweetened - no choice! On the second morning it was completely watered down! They changed it when I complained.

The beds were hard but then I noticed that all the beds seem hard in China! The shower was very poorly designed and water splashed all over the floor when we showered. To make matters worse, it didn't drain properly so the water would overflow from the stall onto the rest of the bathroom floor! Quite bad..

All in all, this is NOT a 5-star hotel... don't waste your money!

Room Tip: Don't stay at this hotel!

This hotel was booked for us as part of our tour package. Initially we were concerned as reviews were quite negative, Yes, the rooms are a bit dated and have seen better times, but they were clean and comfortable. The beds are firm but we like them that way.
Breakfast is local chinese fare with very limited western options.
There are a number of convenience stores just outside the hotel complex for snacks and drinks.
Unfortunately the Hot springs part of the complex is a let down. We wanted to sample on the last night we were there but lighting was poor, no one was in attendance and many of pools/baths were non-functional.
Free Wi-Fi was available but only in the lobby area.

This is the worst 5 * hotel EVER . NICE lobby , BUT that is IT . Spotted carpets , Smelly rooms with a very hard mattress , BAD food and only Chinese . No one speaks English except for the bell boy whose vocabularies are limited to 100 words ! ! . AC that does not work ( my room temp was even warmer than the outside with the AC on ! ! . It is a joke to rate as a 5* hotel , It is a max 2 * ! ! . AVOID IT .

Room Tip: DO NOT GO THERE .The hotel is VERY old with AC that heats in the summer ! ! ! . VERY thin walls . NO...

As we walked in we were impressed with the foyer.
Until we settled in.
Our beds were like sleeping on planks of wood. They were that bad that we ended up sharing a single bed the next night using the doona from one bed as cushioning on the other. Also the pool was not in use as well as the "hot spring". There is a sign but it leads u to staff quarters. The lack of english speaking staff made it a little frustrating. ( one reason we chose hotel was multi lingual staff).
Anyhow the breakfast they offer is great a variety of cereals omelets fruits and meats.
