“Such a great place to stay, made Guilin much more enjoyable”

The Wada Hostel is truly a recluse in the middle of an otherwise dirty city. The staff is wonderful and speak decent English. They really get to know you and try to make your stay the best possible. We stayed in a two bunk/four bed dormitory; the beds were nice and soft and had lovely heated blankets. The bathroom was really nice as well with a western toilet and hot water which is really all you can ask for. It was great that there was a private bath as well. It was a great place to hang out and meet other travelers. They have a movie area, pool table, wii, wifi, computers, bar, and great outdoor area. It's just a really friendly hostel and they do a great job running. Highly recommended.

We wanted a place near the train station for one night only in a double room. It was a very cold night and the heating didn't work and the plumbing made some very unhealthy noises! The staff were quite smiley and moved us to a twin room with a broken bathroom door which we settled for in the end. Not very impressive and so maybe they've gone downhill since the previous reviews.

Had a one night stay in the Wada Hostel. We rented a family room. The room was huge with two lofted beds which the kids liked.

We left early the next morning to tour the Longji area. the hostel arranged a van for us which worked out fine.

Breakfast at the hostel was good.

if staying in Guilin again, I would stay at Wada hostel.

Conveniently located near the train station, it isn't hard to get to. However, the surrounding area doesn't have much to offer in terms of entertainment. The building itself is nice and spacious. Rooms are clean. The staff was definitely the highlight. Very friendly and more importantly knowledgeable. They helped us set up all our buses and trips.

I stayed in this hostel for a few days at the beginning of June.
After a horrendous train ride from Chengdu a Wada hostel staff member picked me up from the station. We took a taxi, because it was pouring... but it was a free pick up!!
After being refreshed ate a really good meal in the restaurant.
The rooms were clean, and looked newly refurbished. And they are with air-conditioning , and my dorm room even had a western toilet! Awesome!
The staff at the hostel is very nice, they know all the good spots in Guilin and you can rent a bicycle to go around. Also you can play pool for free, so its great to unwind, one day I just chilled at the hostel. But be careful when playing pool against one of the staff members; he's good!!
This hostel is very nice, good food for a right price, nice staff and great amenities! I recommend!

The room we stayed in was very basic and pretty average for hostels that we've been in. The bed is VERY hard but that's typical in China. There is a western toilet and the water was hot and with good water pressure; however, you have to plug in the water heater for an hour before taking a shower. Breakfast was OK and a bit on the pricey side for what you get. But the girls who run this place are fantastic! They helped us book a flight to Shanghai using a Chinese website that got us a much cheaper fare. It was a complete pain for them to do (it involved one girl having to bike to her bank to deposit our cash in her account in order to complete the purchase) but it was done with a smile and no commission. They also provided us with key phrases written in Chinese so we could easily travel on the buses, and booked our Dragon's Back Tour which was good. We also attended their weekly Friday night BBQ, which was a fun time and a good deal - endless amounts of food! This is also a great place to meet other travelers and has free wifi.
