Love the people and the atmosphere at this hostel. The staff were super cheerful and friendly. They also helped to arrange my trips to Yangshuo and Longji.
Great value and the place is very well kept.
Place comes with free wifi (and two computers with internet access), pool table, lots of sitting areas, outdoor patio, old-style fireplace, rock climbing wall, a bar with cute girls, and a big friendly golden retriever.

Wada hostel is a very friendly place. The staff will go out of their way to make you feel at home at their hostel. They speak English well and can organise tours for you. There is a restaurant/bar that serves food and drinks from 7.30 a.m. until 10 p.m. The rooms are not in the same building as the restaurant, TV and common rooms, therefore it is quite quiet. Since it was still rather cold in early March, we enjoyed the electric blanket and heating in the common area.
The hostel might not be a place for you if you dislike or are allergic to dogs, though. There is a big fat dog sitting on the sofas of the common area and begging for food when you are eating. In addition, you might feel like staying at a youth club when the kids from town come to the hostel to play online games.

This is an amazing place to stay if you are interested in the rice field or the river tour! The staff is great and organize everything for you. They arranged for me airport pick up to the hostel. After the rice field tour there was a dumpling party so basically free meal!!! I was able to store my suitcases 2 days free of charge while I went down to Yangshuo. Once back I was late and the staff arranged me last minute airport taxi!!!

Best place to stay in Guilin!!!!

Arrived late in the evening to a warm "welcome to the Wada Hostel". Unbeknown to us this is a member of the International Youth Hostel movement. Yet they welcomed us as 60 year old travellers as if we were part of the family. Rooms were basic but comfortable with an attached bathroom, air conditioning, Chinese TV and an electric blanket. Two computers were provided free of charge on the reception level and a small restaurant with hot drinks and basic hot food at a reasonable price in the same area. The English speaking reception girls were a breath of fresh air in a country where the written and spoken language is a major problem for westerners.

Room Tip: Buses to Yangshou pass on the street outside (fare 30 RMB)

110 RMB/night for a double with private bathroom
Located near the bus station (10 mins walk) and right in front of a big shopping center (nice restaurants, chinese & big chain boutiques, big supermarket in the basement. There is also a nice park behind the shopping center. The room was basic but the place is very nice. There is a lot of table outside. Internet wifi access, TV, western and local food, bar services, BBQ's every fridays. Very friendly staff! You can book tours with them, they are cheap. We paid 120 RMB for the Bamboo raft on the Li River (pick up by bus in the morning at the hostel, an hour by bus to go to Yangdi, 3 hours cruise on the river to Xingping and an hour bus to Yangshuo) This is a MUST! Also, you can ask them to book your flight ticket without any commission.
