2 taxi drivers refuse to take us to this hotel after telling them the hotel name and address. Later only we knew we got to tell them the hotel near East train station or behind Centre Plaza. The subway was just next to the hotel which was very conveniet. The room was neat and clean.

Right next to the railway station and the subway. Good room with separate living and bedroom. Near shooing and food outlets. If you are fast food buff and late snacker, there are Macdonalds and late nite eateries. Only setback is there are no in-house food service. Good value for 400+ yuan for a comfy stayover.

Booked this with CTRIP during canton fair. Didn't read the terms where there is a one night charge if I cancel or check out a day early. Makes sense because anyone would run after staying for a night. The only thing going for it is the location as it is close to Guangzhou East Rail station and that's about it. Booked a business room. Guess what? the business room doesn't have a working table, so... I requested for one and they literally left it in my room (see picture). Uncomfortable sofa and hard bed. They use a home-type bedsheet with patterns but left me feeling like I'm staying in someone's room. Worst is, I left the Do Not Disturb sign out on my last day before heading out as I didn't want my stuff to be moved. They didn't care. Came in and nicely hung back the sign behind the door. Will not return...

Location was very very convenient
-- mcdonalds nearby
-- 2 minutes walk to subway
-- right across the train station to hong kong
-- lots of shopping in the underground shopping center opposite the train station

Facilities were complete if you stay in one of the basic suites
-- room had ref, water boiler, etc.
-- free internet connection

BUT
-- bed was pretty hard if you're not used to it
-- lacked a "working table" hardly a proper height desk to work

Overall OK!

Room tip: Face the courtyard

We stayed here twice during our stay in China. The hotel has excellent suites, which is great for families and/or groups. In one wing the suites even have a kitchen. The staff is less helpful than you would hope for; even though they say they can buy train tickets for you, we had to do it ourselves. It's very expensive to get your laundry done, but in the hotel you can do your laundry yourself for only 9 yuan (drying is for free). At the reception you can exchange paper money for coins. Nearby you will found shops for food, such as a 7-eleven. There is a Mc-D, but also a range of Chinese restaurants to choose from. The subway is very close, at the train station, from where you can also walk to a very large shopping mall, with a lot of excellent shops, food, supermarket, all very modern. With the excellent subway system you can easily visit all kind of nice thing to do in Guangzhou. This is a good part of Guangzhou to spend some days before traveling into China further.

Room tip: The left wing has bigger suites with a kitchen for the same price.
