I loved it, my relatives did to there was so mouch to see, like the Goldfish garden and animal behavior exhibit. The exhibits were done nicely and if you asked the care takers would give you food to feed the animals! My favorite part was the Goldfish Garden because there was tones of fish and things to do you coulf fish for goldfish catch goldfish and win some games to get fish! But there's always a bad part, the prices I guess were high and there wasn't that much parking space but everything else was awesome!

After writing a very negative review about a Bangkok zoo recently I am pleased to be able to report on a totally opposite experience in my visit to Guangzhou Zoo.
Set in an inner city location it has a metro station at the gate, there are ramps everywhere for those that need them and the cost is very reasonable. The day I went there were dozens of families having great time in a well managed garden environment?
The facilities were well maintained and there was no rubbish thrown about. Despite the inner city location the zoo has a vast collection of every animal imaginable.
There were amusement areas and shows for the kids but my main interest was the animal display.
The size and location limits how they can show some animals and there were probably a few too many cages to keep them happy. The elephant, giraffe and zebra displays were excellent but the lions, and leopards looked miserable in their small cages.
The lone panda was asleep on the day I went which was a disappointment.
Overall I got the feeling the zoo managers were doing a good job at creating the right environment to show off their huge collection.

Located at zoo station, walking distance is one minute.
You can buy ticket at 20RMB for admission.
30 RMB is admission + one attraction
40 RMB is admission + two attractions
You can take a mini tram to walk around the zoo for 10 RMB.
There are also kids performance :)
Animals didnt really move much, maybe they lack of energy to walk
Panda not living in cold place which they should be living in.

This was such a depressing place to visit. I can't imagine seeing much worse conditions in a major zoo. The small cages look like they belong from 100 years ago, especially the big cat enclosures. They are tiny concrete rings with no room for the cats to really move and it really just made us sad. There were absolutely no keepers around when we were there and everywhere people were showering animals with food, literally throwing over the do not feed signs. It is a big place that could probably be developed into a great zoo but it seems all about the numbers of visitors. Avoid if you don't want a spoiled day or image of Guangzhou.
