“Worst Hotel I've Ever Been”
Reviewed September 17, 2012

By far this is one of the worst hotel i've ever been to.

1. Staff were rude. even the front desk. not helpful at all. They can even raise their voice.
2. apparently the whole hotel's aircon were down. after 3 calls, housekeeping brought a fan.
To add salt to the wound, from Friday to Sunday, we had to use the fan. after complaining, nothing were rectified.
3. When request for items, you can hear the housekeeping swearing in their dialect.
4. The bathroom floor were filled with "dirty" particles.

Think twice before you decide to stay in this hotel.

Pro : Great location
Reasonable Price

Cons : Very old rooms

For the same price, it's easy to get a better hotel. Lift is ALWAYS full, 6th floor dim sum is OK

U can ask them to warm up food in micro wave

I stayed at lido hotel for 4days 3nights.. At first i booked the superior room, but the receptionist told me to upgrade to triple room because we are 3ppl, the price not so bad.. I only add ¥70 n got frm superior to triple room which is quiet spacious..

The plus point of this hotel is the good location, u can easily find food around the hotel n mcd is just beside the hotel.. So does taxis, but u have to be careful with the taxi, never go with a taxi who tell u price at first place..

Theres only a couple of staff who can speak english.. Almost of the staff dont even smile.. I dont know whether thats just the way chinese ppl are or they just rude..

The concierge and the security r more helpful than the receptionist themselves, bcos basically the receptionist know nothing abt guangzhou..

The toilet is very dirty, doesnt matter if u stay at the cheapest or most expensive room, all the toilets r dirty..

I have bad experiences when i check out:
1. The lady who took care of my check out cant speak english
2. They said i took 3 face towels frm the bathroom n asked me to pay, the truth is they dont even gave me the towels frm the first day
3. They charged me ¥463 for telephone, which i used once n just for 10min.. N they refuse to show me the details..
4. It took me 30min just to check out, eventho im the only customer theyre serving.. Yes, 30min.. If u r in a hurry, consider to check out earlier..

I'll be back to stay here because of the place n price.. But next time i'll be more careful..

We spent 3 nights and almost everyday to Beijing Road (just opposite the hotel). It is very near to Haizu Plaza-where u can take Baiyun Airport Shuttle and also Shang Xia Jiu area for shopping. We stayed at Superior room and it was spacious. The room amenities provided is more than enough for a 3 star hotel. They have big luggage room where u can store your luggage for days though it is chargeable. Ticket centre at the lobby provides helpful information and sells tickets to Macau and Hongkong, A chinese restaurant on Fl. 6 serves nice yam cha (drink tea in Cantonese). So it's very convenient to stay here. I certainly will come back again.

I stayed there in Oct 2009 during Canton Fair
It’s a 3 star hotel, well located at the corner of pedestrian area, this area is famous for Pirated Branded Products. One can spend many hours for shopping over there. In this area night is like day, but at 11 PM everything gona close.
Breakfast is just OK, but the good thing is hotel is a part of central transport chain, which runs free transport service for canton fair. Concierge is just normal, not willing to help you. How every staff helped us to keep our luggage for 3 hours in their store after check out, because our flight time was in evening. Room service staff is also friendly and helping.
Rooms are clean but small, normally standard room rent was 300 RMB but due to canton fair they charged us 1300 RMB … wao, I really want to own a hotel over there and earn triple during exhibitions.
Many food chains are available around; KFC, McDonals & Pizzhut are adjacent to the hotel building, and others are also at a walk of 2 to 3 mins.

for shoping there, if shopkeeper says 100 u must say 50, a good start..

Room Tip: no need to take taxi for lunch and dinner, all kind of food is available around, however one need a...

This hotel is located near Beijing Road, as it is near to shopping streets, Pearl River (a port, which is a must-visit spot at the end of Beijing Road at night), restaurants, etc. There's a McDonald just beside the hotel, so it's very convenient too. A 15-20 minutes walking distance from the Railway Station East to the hotel (I have walked there before with my luggage), whereas an airport is quite near to the hotel (in my opinion, better get helped by taxi, cause I'm not sure how far is it).
The hotel is quite old, but it's comfortable to stay in as the room is tidy and clean.
Enjoy the nightlife in Beijing Road, shopping deal is quite good and cheap, but not all the shopkeepers are friendly, I don't really like their attitudes.
Anyway, enjoy!

Spent 5 nites and never felt boring to sleep and relaxing after walked so many hours. The bed were stiff, it's good for our back, the bathroom were clean and the towels were soft. One of the staff was very honest to keep my husband watch which left behind and we have to turn back to got it. Altough the receptionist had no smile at all, but hey..this china! Don't expect to much nice attitude, they help you it's enough.
