Good workout all these stairs, be ready for a long walk, about 3 hours, you can buy fruits from street vendors at departure at south gate and there are several snacks stalls on the way. If you want to get to the reservoir you have to plan to leave the park by the west gate (otherwise you have to walk all the way back). The view is not fantastic, but there are pavillions and kind of temples on the way which makes the visit more interesting
Some people play cards, badminton, dance etc

I've been here about 5 times, so I'm not writing about any particular visit.

I agree with the other positive reviewers. It is good exercise and free, so hard to beat. The path has quite a few stairs so be prepared, unless you'd prefer to ride in one of the electric tourist cars or cable car.

There is a Buddhist temple with practicing monks, similar to others in the area.

If you persevere and make it to the top, you are rewarded with a nice view on a clear day. There are independent vendors selling food and drinks at the base and near the top.

The fee for this attraction is 5 renminbi.

To escape the heat and crowd from the busy city, the White Cloud Mountain is surprisingly pleasant. Walking around could take hours but there are electric carriers for people who don't like to walk all the way.
On the day there were A few visitors there but not as many as on the streets down below. They all had smiling faces and seemed enjoying their family outings.

Bright and early one morning we took a cab to Bai Yun Shan National Park. We had a stopover at a small eating place before the entrance of the park - we had zhu chang fen (unlike the sweet sauce we eat with in Singapore), they served it with savoury meat sauce or soup. Very yummy.

After that, we took bought tickets and took a ride into the park. As you walk along the path, you'll see the locals singing in groups (they were having some sort of choir competition in an open space), people playing chuptek, chess, people dancing, practicing martial arts, playing table tennis, playing instruments etc.

It was a lovely feeling to be among the locals with different sorts of interests and talents to be gathering in different parts of the mountain.

Recommended by hotel and it turned out one of the best places we visited in Guangzhou! The cable car, the hike to a temple down there, a small amusement park for a great ride - slide way!, bird park and butterfly valley! I may go back again next time!
