I stayed at this hotel for the canton fair. The location is so far from everything and a cab ride cost a lot of money. They offer a free shuttle ones a day to go shopping from 7:30 pm to 10:30pm. That includes a one hour commute. So you only have 2 hours which is not enough at all. Also the place they drop you off is very scary at night. Stay at a hotel in town close to the metro, and then for less than $1.00 you can go anywhere in Guangzhou. Hotel smells very bad from the humidity. And they turn the ac off after noon and they turn some of the light off also at night( including the main lobby).

Relatively inexpensive five star hotel with all imaginable amenities. Really nice surroundings with small lake and greenery, providing relaxing atmosphere having in mind that it´s Guangzhou city. I would recommend to visit spa for a foot massage. Perfect ending for a busy day!

Room tip: I would recommend a room with balcony (deluxe room)

We've stay on this hotel for some business conference together with my friend. The hotel itself is nice and well decorated. Lobby is so beautiful with a lots of venetian decoration.

At the beginning, I was impressed on the hotel's extravagant look. Since they say that this is a 5 star hotel, I'm so excited to enjoy the ameneties. Once we enter the room, my excitement turns to be dissapointments. The room itself is dusty and with stain on carpets. My allergy starts on this hotel. It seems that carpets are not vacuumed or clean. Im not that sensitive to dust but on this hotel, it worsen my allergy. The aircondition is not working properly. Imagine the time we went there is summer season.

The location of this hotel is too far from the airport of Guangzhou. It took us around 1.5 hrs by cab. Comparing this 5 star hotel with other 2-3 star hotels in China, I would say they are just the same. At least for 2-3 star, I have less expectation.

For food, hotel restaurant serves a buffet style and others serving specialty cuisine. The buffet food, I would say is good enough since you can find a lot of cuisine from chinese, japanese, american and french style.

The worst is, other restaurant inside the hotel that serves Chinese dish was terrible. I'm living in China for how many years now and I am accustomed on how they prepare food. But despite the fact that I am accustomed, I cannot accept the fact that the food we are eating have some flies or insect on it. A colleague of my friend found it and it was so disguisting.

Another worst part is the swimming pool. The chlorine content of the pool is too much. You can smell it and you cannot bear it. My eyes turns to red after 30 mins of swimming and I've got a headache due to the smell.

After those experience, I will not stay on this hotel again.

My stay was from Dec 2 to Dec 7 for business reasons. I have chosen this hotel because it was close to my working place. I had a “deluxe room (king size)”. When you enter the hotel’s hall you going to think it’s the right place. After reaching the room you are back in reality. It of course is spacious but in a poor condition compared to the public areas of the hotel. The rooms smell musty and need urgent renovation. Some lamps were defect. The carpet was dirty what I really hate. On TV you only have BBC and CNN with English language the 50 other channels are Chinese only. There is free WiFi access included but to be honest, it is really not the fastest connection. The breakfast offers great choice for everybody’s taste. Only the coffee is bad. They offered me to use the fitness center but I didn’t had the opportunity to use. Within the hotel there are also some clothing shops and a shop for daily needs, cigarettes and beverages. An ATM is available as well. The hotel itself is part of the huge Phoenix City with a lot of residences for wealthy people and foreigners. From the hotel there is a free shuttle bus to the close by transportation center where you can find cheap restaurants and supermarkets. Don’t be afraid, the bus takes another tour on the way back! Guangzhou is not my favorite place in China, but maybe I haven’t seen enough to make a reliable statement. Definitely I would try to find another hotel if I had to come back.
