It does not take you more than two hours to go through this museum and by the content you see, it seems that you have spent a whole day learning about Guangzhou. It tells the history of the city and the way of life of it´s citizens in the ancient days, through an infinity of art pieces and several chambers, such as bedrooms, living rooms and other, with antique furniture and objects, resembling their habits and culture. You can get a good idea of how it was and how it became what it is now, in just a couple of hours. It is a must-see in my opinion.

It's near to the Yuexiu park metro station and the Nanyue tomb museum. Set in a pretty little park with a few things to see. The museum is in the old city walls of old Guangzhou. The infromation is good and in English. And its only 10 rmb

There's two parts to this museum, and the more interesting half is closed during lunch hours. It's located in YueXiu Park and a bit hard to find while the remodel the park (signs are down). It's certainly a nice little visit with some special things from the area.

I expected more from a museum, but otherwise it was enough insights to the local history, and for someone who had never been to China. I guess this could be one of the 'must-see' item while in Guangzhou.
