Definitely a spot worth going to. Lots of nice art-sy shops and galleries, and it's always expanding. I've been here a year before and I can definitely say there is more each time I come back. There are western food restaurants, Chinese food, and places to just have a drink. The galleries I think change every few months so there is always more, and just a very good place to take pictures and walk about.

It is a former canned-food factory and is now revitalized as an artistic zone with many art exhibitions and galleries. Another art-lover's must-go besides XiaoZhao Village.
However, I heard a news that the local gov't is planning to pull down the whole area for urban redevelopment...... So, go before we lost it!

Worth going to if you have a few hours to spare. Browse the galleries and art shops, enjoy a bite to eat and people watch. The short walk to and from the metro is interesting in itself as you get a flavour of the 'real' GZ.
The Redtory appears to be an old converted industrial compound. The roads are still lined with beautiful old trees and it's encouraging to see creativity at work. Enjoy...

I had a free day in Guangzhou and I'm glad I went here. Head towards the "E" section. There's numerous free art galleries where you could spend minutes or hours depending on your tastes and interesting cafes and restaurants. Not crowded and very relaxing... also nearby and on the opposite side of Redtory is a very interesting housing estate with hidden narrow alleyways and merchants selling all sorts of things including pigs heads and testicles.

Away from the buzz of the city, we enjoy having lunch on a terrace mixed with a few art exhibition visits.
