I visited the Baomo Garden while in China for six weeks. It was an awesome attraction. I've never seen such beautiful trees, flowers, waterfalls and buildings. The artwork and attention to detail on the buildings is definitely something wonderful to see. It was calm and relaxing. There was something for everyone to enjoy. I was with my 7 year old disabled son and two other women over the age of 60. Since I am from America and African American it was funny to see how the locals stared at us. Everyone was so friendly, helpful and curious. We spent a few hours at this attraction and it was well worth the hour drive. There is plenty to see and photograph. If you get tired take a seat and just take in the scenery. It was hot on the day we were there, but the buildings were cool if you need a break from the heat. There is also a small water feature that the children can play in, and many opportunities to feed coy. It can be crowded (like everything else we visited in China) but the place is so big you don't really notice it. We purchased several souveneirs for our family memeber back in America. If you are ever in Guangzhou it will be worth it to stop in and visit.

Not worth traveling one hour by bus from shiqiao station line 3 metro. A man-made garden, don't expect to see trees, grass, pond or nice nature there. All man-made. I would advise you to skip this area unless you have plenty of time to kill and nothing better to do. Great for the locals since there is no better place to go.

Well-managed and interesting attraction, located more than an hour's drive from the centre of Guangzhou. Go on a sunny day, and avoid peak times and public holidays. Location is not too far from, and easily accessed by bus, from Shiqiao, Panyu. Takes about half a day to see and photograph the lovely gardens, buildings, bridges and Koi ponds. Though not world class, it is an excellent place to spend quality time with family and friends. One can stop for snacks and drinks, while enjoying performances of old Cantonese songs, at the Teahouse next to the lake. Good local dishes are available at several restaurants inside -- as well as outside -- the Baomo Garden.

I love this place, hidden away in Panyu, a hour or so from city; Baomo garden is beautifully designed and built, hard to image it's a modern day creation, I am very impressive that old time craftsmanship have not been lost. The stock of garden fish is mind-boggling, there's literally thousand and thousand of them. I went during a weekday, it was not too crowded. There are a number of impressive collection of traditional Chinese antique and arts. Zhao Tailai's antique and ceramic collection is a must visit.

So if you are in Guangzhou and like Chinese arts and garden, this is good place to enjoy half a day of fine arts and scenery - Baomo Yuan literary mean "Garden of Treasure Ink"
