“good staff good hotel away from city centre accessability a problem but still worth”
Reviewed November 3, 2011

if u r looking for peace with style this is good although even metro is far , taxi dont want to go , but still affordable hotel at this price if u try similar room maybe price inside city is double and breakfast is really excellent , rooms are 5 star style but still can rate it 4 star only , accessibilty is big problem , taxi driver is not easy to agree to go but still can figure out , dont try walking to metro i did and cried , take taxi ,

think 80 rmb extra everyday for taxi then this is a good deal worth to go !

staff really is very courteous and helpful , they make experience well and good , u can see bentley limosines in the lobby , hotel is huge in style room size little small but acceptable
boutique hotel good use of glass will come here again

Room Tip: choose seperate bed room its bigger in size

Booked this room via booking.com and got really good rates. Hotel was very nice, though not a walking distance to any local amenities or shops. A taxi drive away to everywhere though the pool and the gym is really nice. breakfast was good too. Also problem that I had was that the room smelled of smoke even though I had requested a non smoking room, which was changed later, and also the housekeeping tried to bill me for Evian water that I never consumed. Overall would stay again and recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: request non smoking only

Great hotel, clean, modern.
Buffet was awesome but closed too early. The rooms don't have ventilation, no outside air but it's ok cause the lovely decor made up for it. Oh, and make sure you're prepared for the bathroom which has NO door! That's right, tell your room mate to not walk past by 'accident'..lol

I tend to not believe it when I see "4" or "4-1/2 star" ratings for China. There are plenty of such hotels with internet that moves at glacial speeds, bad service, smoke-filled rooms, etc. This is not one of them.

The staff here speaks relatively decent English, especially those at the front desk. I arrived during the week and checked right in, without any of the issues another traveler had. They were unsure how much deposit to charge to my credit card but seemed reasonable in resolving the issue.

The staff here practically trips over themselves to accommodate you, to the point of being a bit OCD. For example, in the rare event no one is at the front door when you arrive, someone will run over to open it for you. The pool staff are very helpful as well, although their English is more hit-or-miss.

The whole place feels like a tropical resort with nice, modern architecture. It is sometimes hard to find the place, which seemed like a good thing, but my taxi found it right away thanks to a sign on the road leading to the entrance.

The facilities here are great. The swimming pools are very nice and hours are quite reasonable. Rooms are nice, as well, with soft-ish beds, great TV, granite countertops, and cool modern fixtures. There is one double-hinged door that slides between the shower and the (very large) toilet room. I did not find this problematic at all and found other reports of the room being laid out poorly to be quite exaggerated in my opinion. I really liked the room.

Things here are a bit expensive by Chinese standards. There is not much to do within walking distance (except for some very nice forested areas near Baiyun Park, which is a nice walk). I ordered a sandwich and fries from room service and with service charge it was still only $8. Not as cheap as other Chinese hotels but not outrageous by western standards. The spa did seem a bit pricey, though.

OVerall, this hotel was the highlight of my trip. I would recommend it to anyone. I stayed at the Wynn in Macau which was obviously nicer, but I felt just as excited about this place considering the vastly lower price point.

The hotel is crazy... small, uncomfortable rooms and they have a special category of 'window-less' rooms... u have to see it, to believe it. The only saving grace is the swimming pool.

Please remember to settle all your accounts, especially credit cards, before u leave. It's been almost two months and I'm still struggling with my refund. my advice... try keep ur dealings all in cash... they still haven't figured out the difference between 'Blocking' an amount and 'Charging' the card.

I was here during the canton fair in May 2011.
The hotel room and spa is decorated very beautifully. However that said the biggest problem is that the toilet is basically a continuation of the room with out any wall/door/partition.
Also there is a glass door which can either cover the shower or the WC part which are separate. this can be very uncomfortable if you are travelling with another person.
The beds are very comfortable and not hard like other hotels in China.
The food is pretty good but not many people understand english which is a big let down in a hotel of this class.

The bad : they don't understand a word of customer service. front desk check in took 25 minutes. Check out 30 minutes. In general their service is not upto the mark.

The spa is excellent but quite expensive.

Overall decent value for money for the type of hotel but with a few design flaws and average customer service.
