“Good times shopping”
Reviewed May 27, 2014

Good: Lots and lots and lots of stores. Bad: So many so much the same.
Good: It goes on and on and on. Bad: In summer, that means walking in very hot weather for way too long.
Good: Prices are pretty cheap. Bad: Quality might not be great at a lot of places.
Good: Lots of places to sit down for a bite to eat. Bad: Very few places to get a drink.
Good: I bought lots of stuff here. Bad: It took lots of time to find anything good.
Good: I always enjoy pedestrian streets, especially in Asia. Bad: So so many people.

And thus concludes today's Good and Bad, a thing I just made up right now.

Really, though, yes, I'd recommend shopping here. A good variety of a lot of different things, mostly clothes, at pretty good prices. Deal with the crowds and the heat and it's worth it.

“What are you looking for?”
Reviewed May 3, 2014

This the deep China. Not the modern; although some of it you´ll find here. Not the touristy; although this is where Chinese nationals visit and shop in Guangzhou. Food here is very, very Cantonese! Strong flavors, NO English. You can buy cheap stuff here, not much quality, and no international brands on site--except, of course KFC and 7 Eleven that are so conspicuous that I was starting to believe they ARE Chinese. Go there for the fun of it if you have the time and patience.

“Fun shopping”
Reviewed March 16, 2014

This is an old street full of shops. the streets that connect to it are full of more shops. Its an enjoyable afternoon walk window shopping and sampling foods. It is closed to cars and very relaxing.
