Was here on business trip. The Guangzhou city itself i'm not too excited about. This hotel is a standard business hotel. Room is modern. Service is ok. Facing a park. Near IKEA. The subway is about 10 mins walk, so not that close. Room service is ok. I forgot whether the internet is free or not (as far as I remember, it wasn't free) There's a 7-11 near by if you want to grab something. In the lobby there's an ATM to take money.

In summary, standard business hotel. It's good if your company is paying. Would not stay there on personal trip. The hotel itself for some reason was not very memorable though.

I generally dislike traveling to Guangzhou, but the Westin Guangzhou is one bright spark that I can look forward to whenever I need to travel to that city.

Situated in the Tianhe district, it's in the financial district so it's great for business travelers. As you enter the lobby, there are usually drinks (usually in the summer time) in the hotel lobby you can help yourself to (some yummy cold tea drink).

The rooms are fabulous. A huge sleeping area with a nice spacious desk and a fabulous bathroom with white tea toiletry products that actually work really well. The "Heavenly Bed" certainly lives up to its name, with like 7 pillows on the bed.

Absolutely fabulous :)

Business stay: 30 min to exhibition grounds, lovely and maintained fully packed rooms, service is great, club lounge: specious but had a problem with printing, not so well maintained, business center has a very good speaking English staff (which is rare in Guangzhou) location is not the perfect one if you're looking for a little shopping walk after work, the Tee mall is a good 30 min walk going all around the sports arena.

The Westin is one of the newer properties in Tian He district, very conveniently located close to the Guangzhou East railway station. Perfect for anyone traveling on the Hong Kong - Guangzhou through train from Hong Kong.
Staying at a "Grand Deluxe Room" versuslower categories does not make much of a difference, as the lay - out of the rooms seems to be identical. The more expensive ones are just located in higher floors.
The rooms are very spacious, well appointed, although a bit worn already after a few years of operation, which seems to be a very common thing in China, even in luxury properties.
Service is efficient and friendly, restaurants offer a good choice at reasonable prices.
The Bar is lively and, with live bands performing, pretty noisy but still pleasant for a night cup.

Room Tip: I think all rooms are more or less the same.
