I stayed in this hotel from Nov 4 till Nov 6 ( three days ) during my pilgrimage of hajj 2012. This is a very good hotel with full amenities and have a kitchenette ! To reach the Nabawi Mosque is just like open your doorstep and...there you are ! They have Mall downstair, so shopping is convenient. The neighbourhood is very good. The food is so and so, but i like the desserts, its truly Swiss hotel. The room is very big at 11th floor, and they have so many elevators.

Room Tip: When you checked in, ask the Reception whether you can have a room with mosque view.

We stayed at the Movenpick for 3 nights right after Hajj this year. We reached the hotel at around 11 pm at night and parked our car in the underground parking. Check in was smooth and we were taken to our rooms fairly quickly. The property is very large and consists of 2 towers, haram tower and the city tower. We had a haram facing room with an excellent view of the masjid. The room was a nice size with 3 beds and a sofa. We also requested for a cot for our 2 year old. We had stayed at the Hilton Hotel in Makkah and compared to that the bathroom here was just a little smaller but instead they had provided a small kitchenette instead.

One good feature of hotel was that you could hear the azaan over the speakers in the corridors.

The location of the hotel is very good and is just minutes away from the masjid. The women's entrance is also very close but if the ladies want to go for salaam, they would have to walk about 5 to 10 min. The ladies entrance for salaam is right opposite dar al taqwa, so if you have elderly ladies in the group, maybe that will be a better option but honestly the distance is not that much. The men have to enter through bab salaam which is also a bit of a walk but for regular prayers, the closest entrance that i used for bab umar bin khatab.

Breakfast and dinner was included with our package. Both meals had a good variety no complaints in taste.

There is also a bin dawood on the ground floor which is convenient for snacks and drinks. There are also 2 3 floors for shopping but we never got the time to check it out.

Housekeeping was timely and thorough and they also provided you with sufficient stocks of complimentary tea and coffee.

It is a 5 star property and because of the location they charge a premium rate but its worth the money and I will inshAllah come again.

Stayed here during Hajj this year. Had a corner room at the Haram tower. Excellent view of the Masjid from my window. Could enter the masjid as soon as i stepped put of the hotel. Rooms looked fairly new, spacious & clean. The service wasn't that great but was adequate for the Hajj season. Food was very good. I'd go back again.

You can see the mosque from the window. Walking distance. Close to the market, can walk down to experience the food.

Ideally located to pray all times...

Rooms are perfect and the breakfast is a real treat.

The service can not be better. Despite so much traffic... it was perfect. We were there at the time of Hajj... no complaints!

Room Tip: Close your eyes and book

I have stayed several times at this hotel and once during the peak Ramadan period. I have to admit I have no major complaints. The hotel located northwest of the mosque is right next to the female entrance and great for families. Staff are very well trained and organized. Rooms are quite spacious and tastefully furnished and maintained. Breakfast is good and varied. The shops downstairs are a good convenience. There is sometimes difficulty finding a parking spot but its in a better situation that most of the other hotels.

Room Tip: Fantastic view of the Haram from room with views.
