“Beautifull”
Reviewed January 3, 2013

The entire area is beautifully done and well kept. They have large umbrealla coverings over the open areas to keep the place cool. The women's section is no where close to the original mosque and the prophet's home. Doors to the women's section are on the old gold souk side. The men can enter from all sides. The womens section has one area for children and a front section where kids are not allowed.

Luckily for us they opened the old mosque area for women after the night prayer. That was just amazing. The prophet's original mosquse is just a small square area that is cordined off with a low railing. The prophet's home has been doubled walled with a grill on the outside. You cant see any of the original structure. This part of the Mosque is the older part of the mosque. The tiling, architecture and light fixtures are all different. All fabulous. Its an amazing feeling to be standing at the spot where the prophet prayed and lived.

“The most serene place in the world”
Reviewed January 3, 2013

A spectacular mosque, very calm and serene, with the just the humming of the silent prayers from thousand lips.Enormous structure with the green qubba, underneath lie the mortal remains of the prophet(S). The tomb cannot be seen as it is enclosed beyond multiple walls, and is not allowed to be worshiped. Worship only God is the strict motto. This mosque gives all the peace in your life and we yearn to visit here again and again.

This is the place where all of us muslims would like to visit again and again. This time it was nice visit and not much rush as the umra season not yet started in Madinah. I wish to visit again and again to this place.

“Stunning and overwhelming”
Reviewed December 25, 2012

This mosque is stunning, overwhelming, beautiful and a must place to visit. It can accommodate 3 million mosque goers at any one time. I was awed by its grandeur and splendor. once there it continues to draw you back in even after you leave. The mosque has an army of cleaners and is well maintained. It is well organized considering the number of people who go there. Muhammad (pbh) is buried in this mosque and it is one of the three holiest mosques in Islam. Well worth visiting if you are a Muslim. Sorry, non-Muslims are not allowed.
