Elaf Taiba Hotel
Ranked #48 of 149 Hotels in Medina

We visited Madina Munawara and Masjide Nabawi during the last week of Ramadam 2012.

Elaf Taiba is based right opposite gate 15 of the haram (directly opposite from Movenpick). You can see masjide Nabawi from certain rooms in the hotel, and from the entrance. Location fantastic, which was one of our key crieteria for hotel selection.

Staff are english speaking, friendly and helpful.

As we were travelling as a family we booked 2 x triple interconnecting rooms. Rooms were of a reasonable size, although a little dated. Rooms had UK power sockets installed. No WIFI in rooms, and only available in reception.

At peak prayer times lifts were very crowded, and numbers probably insufficient for the size of the hotel.

Breakfast / Sahoor was good with plenty of variety for all.

Reasonable hotel to stay in. Would I rate it as a 4-star hotel....From a location perspective definately, in terms of an overall package probably 3 and a half stars compared to other hotels we have stayed in in Madina.

Room Tip: Ask for the business suites!

Right opposite Gate 15 of haram, can see masjid nabawi from room window. Rooms were ok and room service food was very good after a hard day's srummaging in rawdha. Breakfast was decent. The great location and price gets this a 4 star.

I was traveling with 2 friends. We went in the closing nights of Ramadan 2012 (night of 22 Ramadan) after an Umra trip.

Positives:
+ Very good location close to Haram.
+ Staff is very friendly.
+ Rooms were clean.
+ They correctly put us in a room with 3 single beds as requested.
+ Ample power outlets and adaptor plugs were a nice touch.

Negatives:
--- After paying and checking in I saw the price we paid was over the maximum posted amount on the back of the room door.
-- The internet in the lobby did not work at all.
-- The Suhoor (Ramadan meal before Fajr) was extremely mismanaged and disorganized. It was paid with our room rate so we expect to eat especially if we go on time. But there were not enough tables and a single, long, food line which kept running out of food. How about making lunch boxes or multiple lines?? This was very offputting and a major reason for my low rating.
- The finishing was okay but the bathroom seemed very dated.
- The safe did not work. Not good if you want to keep your passports safe

Room Tip: Check if the meal included is a morning Breakfast or evening Break-fast (dinner) :-)

The only thing that I cared about was the walking distance from the Masjid and shopping centers from the hotel. This hotel is great for that purpose only! Everything else is mediocre and probably rank it 3.5 Stars, as for the location, it is differently 5 Stars! That is all that mattered to me and my family.

The best thing about this hotel is how close it is to the prophets mosque. My famile and I stayed at a 5-bedroom suite which was really nice.we had to change to another suite because there was some renovation going on at floor above us and the sound was really awful. The wifi is also really good.

Stayed at this hotel it is near one of the main gates to the Prophet's Mosque, literally 60 seconds away. Polite staff even though they don't speak English.
