If you like shopping malls, you will probably like this one. I don't, and I didn't, but it's a matter of taste.
The primary aspect of interest to me, as a newly-arrived US expat, was in seeing the bizarre contrast between the Western fashions on display in the store windows--mostly oriented toward women--and the parade of abaya-clad shoppers. (There seems to be some fundamental dissonance in Saudi culture that will need to be worked out over time--a simultaneous fascination with and rejection of Western styles and values.) But after the novelty of that has worn off, it's just another shopping mall. The curved hallways split and converge, and seemingly go on forever.
After shopping at SACO World (which was a disappointment), I set out for HyperPanda supermarket, without knowing exactly where it was. I felt sure I could find it just by walking, but after maybe 45 minutes, never passing the same store twice, I finally had to ask... (It's near Gate #3). The fact that a store the size of HyperPanda could remain hidden amidst the maze of stores says it all..
The food court is impressive... with many American fast food chains represented, as well as others that offer good food.
