“Tasty oily reasonably priced Indian Pakistani food”

Staff is polite and food is tasty, oily, reasonably priced. Wide variety in Indian Pakistani food. Must visit to taste Indian food with Pakistani style cooking.

“Good food, good portions”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2013

This place serves pretty good Pakistani food. The decor isn't much to look at, but isn't terrible either. I recommend ordering the curry - any curry you order, chicken or lamb, and of any variant, would most assuredly be good. And the nan here is pretty nice as well, and make a great accompaniment to the curries. The biryani is very good as well.

Do avoid the "Chinese" dishes, unless you're sick of curry - these are really poor attempts at chinese style cooking (though not the worst "chinese" food I've had in this country). Having said that, the fried noodles are edible, and you can't really go wrong with fried rice. In fact, I'd recommend the masala rice - which is fried rice with spice powder added in.

The prices are reasonable. In fact, the portions served are quite large, so you could actually share them.

For people unfamiliar with shops in Saudi Arabia, all shops are closed during prayer times, so it's best to check the local prayer times (which changes from day to day) before heading out for a meal.

“Fantastic Little Restaurant”

Tons of really good food; careful how much you order unless you are very hungry. Indian, chinese and arabic food in a comfortable setting with great service.

“Really affordable good quality Indian food in a large but homely restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 11, 2012

When we arrived at this restaurant we had to wait outside for 5 minutes due to prayer time, and when we got inside it was very quiet and nobody really served us once we had been put to our table. We were having second thoughts when the staff returned and shortly after the place started to get busy and the silence was replaced by the sound of chatting etc.
The English menu offers loads of pretty cheap dishes, the majority of which will need you to order some rich or breads with it. For 3 people we ordered 3 Handi dishes with 2 rice and several naan breads and all of them were good. We had plenty of food and the bill was really reasonable.
The décor and service is quite homely in so much as it feels a little bit run-down, but the atmosphere of the locals eating there really helped it and it didn’t feel tired or shabby so much as popular and lived in!
Ultimately it is just good solid Pakistani food but the service was the good, the atmosphere warm and the costs very low. If you’re at the Crown Plaza is a very short walk to get to La Sani and if you’re in the mood for it, it is a really nice little place.
