I stayed at Park-Inn for a month after having spent a week in another hotel (more expensive) in Ekaterinburg, and the change was welcome.
It's very conveniently located (city center), though that accounts for some amount of noise. Also, one wing is directly exposed to a huge neon sign, which I found really annoying.
Breakfast is excellent, though not very diverse. Same goes for Magellan, hotel's restaurant.
All staff speak English and are very helpful.
Rooms are small and clean, though very spartanic - bring your own toiletries, otherwise you will be using the same liquid as shampoo, liquid soap, and shower gel. No mini-bar, iron, comb etc., nor they mention anywhere provision upon request.
Same goes for hotel's amenities - no sauna, pool, gym etc. here.
Lastly, bring enough clothes, as hotel's laundry rates are exorbitant, and if you order taxi from the reception, ask for city taxi - hotel taxi is a rip-off, and I never had any problems with the city taxis

I stayed at the Park Inn Ekaterinburg for ten days in July, 2006. Excellent location behind the opera house and one block from the main street, Lenina Prospekt. Run by major European chain. Everything inside brand-new, functional, and spotless. Ikea-style decor. Rooms run a little small but normal by European big city standards. Business-class room larger, adds a couch, and definitely worth the extra few Euros.

Windows are quadruple-insulated (inner and outer double-paned), so despite traffic noise the rooms are reasonably quiet. I had a comfortable king bed. Plasma TV a plus and offers both CNN International and BBC World. The breakfast buffet (included on my room charge) was excellent, with scrambled eggs and bacon that were actually cooked (as opposed to greasy British-style) as well as a plethora of fresh fruit and other items (including salmon). Dinner in the hotel was very good, though steak is not a Russian specialty. Desserts were above average.

Staff was attentive and well-trained in all areas, with even the table busers in the restaurant able to manage at least a few words of English. All hotel instructions and menus printed in both Russian and English. Security omnipresent. In-room electronic safe, good shower, heated bathroom floor. Plenty of parking, with security always monitoring incoming vehicles. Bonus: staff always friendly and smiling (except Security, who are traditionally not programmed to smile).

Outstanding new hotel for central Russia and worth every penny.

As I write we are in a room in the Park Inn Ekaterinburg Russia in the
Urals. . The hotel is very new, only opened a month. Staff are very
friendly,. Most speak English and do go out of there way to help, even if
they are still being trained in, so forgive them if they make the odd
mistake. The rooms are very modern, but small by todays hotel
standards. Bathroom adequate, very small, shower only ( beware tubs only in
some bath rooms ) . Also beware there are no fridges in the room ( they
say these are to be in stalled soon, no date given ) , and you are only
allocated 2 small bottles of drinking water. I would advise against the tap
water here, so do get plenty from the bar before your retire for the night
There is room service however under the heading for same, with no list of
menus or options is the statement " on request only , and with additional
charge " There is a basic A4 size in room information sheet in Russian and
English. We had a standard room, for a few euro more you can have the
next and only one up , a business room, which has about an extra 2 square
meters, and you get a sofa. After the 4th night we moved to a business
room, and the extra few meters were welcome. The Hotel is clean , the food
is very very good ( by hotel standards in Yekaterinburg ) and the breakfast is
the best Hotel breakfast in the city ( I have stayed in 3 of the other
leading Hotels here ),. This is a very good Hotel for business travelers,
located in a good area, close to shops, and the theatre. Down town is a 5
minute walk. However they do charge aprox 12 euro for 24 hour internet
access. The room rates ( Standard room mid week 110 euro for 2 including
breakfast ) are half that of the Atrium Palace, supposed to be the best and
only 5 star hotel in the city. Overall Hotel rates in Yekaterinburg are
outrageous for the services and room standard etc., but this is an emerging
economy and accommodation is thin on the ground so for now they can charge
as they wish. I know a lot of couples travel here for adoption reasons,
and they may need a room to accommodate children, right now they have no
cots at the Park Inn , and if you need to have a child in the room I would
recommend you ask for one of the business rooms with the interlinking door
to a standard room
