“Very nice hotel”
Reviewed February 21, 2012

Very nice hotel in the centre of the city. Wonderful romantic atmosphere with great attention to detail. Staff very helpful. Large room beautifully decorated.
Negative: there isn't an elevator, brekfast is in a very small room with not a lot of variety.

I stayed 2 nights in August and at $130AUS, a liitle more than I wanted to spend. However hotel was excellent, about 12 minutes from train station in a very good part of town close to good shops, walks and restuarants.Breakfast was terrifiic, buffet choice of 10-15 items, lovely quaint setting.Room was near new, good size with good facilities.Front desk staff so good that one staff member finished her shift and then walked me down to the travel agency to help me buy train ticket to Moscow (difficult to do if you do not speak Russian).Free laptop with internet also made available to me, bwd.

My opinion on this hotel is really positive, with a good service, kind staff and nice rooms!
Also the position is very good, close to the city center.

We can't say anything negative about Hotel Chekhov. As with the previous comment, it was probably the best hotel on our Trans-Siberian trip. The service provided was faultless. Finding a suitable hotel in Ekaterinburg seemed more difficult than other cities in Russia so we were really happy that we came across this hotel.

I spent great time with my girlfriend in Chekhov. The hotel is settled in the very city center close to the biggest shopping mall of the city (shops, restaurants, cinemas, etc). Our room was not very big but new, clean, very silent and in front of a huge city park. Breakfast was good with wide choice of food, even room service avaible. Girls at the reception are english speaking, nice and ready to accomplish your needs. Eventually no problem with visa registration. I strongly recommend this hotel for a pleasant stay in Ekaterinburg.

This hotel was by far the best we stayed in during our Russia trip. The rooms were extremely comfortable and well equipped. Location was great, with no traffic noise. Breakfast was very good, lots of choice and extremely well presented and tasty. Staff were very helpful and obliging. Would recommend this hotel for anyone wanting some comfort but good value for money.

This is by far the best hotel we had during our Transsiberian trip. We got rather used to ugly concrete hotels with aged rooms and thin matresses. Hotel Chekhov proofs that hotels in Russia can be different. Friendly English speaking ladies are behind the reception desk and take care of breakfast. The rooms are modern (with fresh paint and wallpaper) and have a rather new bathroom. The beds are comfortable with thick/hard matresses and clean sheets. Furthermore the hotel is centrally located just behind the modern shopping street and only ten minutes walking from Ploshchad 1905 Goda (central square). The only point on which this hotel can improve is breakfast. Breakfast is currently served in a rather small corner of the central hall with a limited assortment of food and very small tables. This is however a minor point. In general I would certainly recommend this hotel to every traveller.
