Stopped in Yekaterinburg for a night on a Trans-Mongolian trip. This was one of the most comfortable hotels on our trip. The room was a good size and modern and the hotel had a good selection of amenities. Breakfast was good as was a snack later in the day. The hotel is conveniently located too.

Like many guests of this place, we came here to visit the US embassy, which is literally around a corner. Ladies on front desk knew all procedures well; they willingly consulted guests on what they are allowed to bring to the embassy and what’s not. And they undoubtedly can share statistics for how many people the visas were granted.

On Sunday night it took about 20 minutes and cost 450 Russian roubles to reach this hotel from Koltsovo airport (SVX) on Yandex Taxi. Although our flight to Ekaterinburg was delayed, we informed the hotel in advance about our late check in and didn’t have problems with that. Another advantage of this hotel was that they easily accepted American Express cards, which are less popular than Visa and Master Card.

Registration formalities went without issues and we got our key cards. I noticed that elevators in this hotel worked incredibly fast and at the same time quite smoothly.

My room welcomed me with personalized greeting card and a set of sweet meringues. The bed was sufficiently soft, elastic and cozy. There were four pillows of various sizes and softness. A bathrobe was neatly folded on the bed and soft slippers were in the wardrobe.

Ambient light around bed helped preserve some light in room without switching on ceiling lamps. Wall luminaire was very convenient for reading; it lit directly to the book leaving the rest of the room in darkness.

The hotel provided me with two complimentary bottles of potable water. Fortunately the room also had a small tea kettle and a few tea bags. I’m known as a “tea addict”: after long trips I feel dehydrated and body needs water or preferably black tea. That’s why these bottles of water and the kettle were very handy for me. Steel safe box with digital keypad was right under the tea corner.

Desired temperature of the room could be adjusted on the wall. That was an air conditioner and space heater in a single appliance. As usually in business hotels, my room had a desk with a lamp, a chair and several sockets to connect your portable gadgets to TV, e.g. VGA, HDMI and so on. The TV itself was embedded into wall in front of the bed. However frankly speaking the TV didn’t impress me. Still it contained reasonable selection of TV channels for various audience on many languages. Strangely RT (Russia Today) was not caught among them. Unfortunately I cannot tell anything about Wi-Fi. Nowadays cellular coverage eliminates necessity of Wi-Fi. But cell phones worked well, at least I can confirm this about TELE2.

The bathroom was something that they can boast of. The hotel provided guests with toothbrushes and small tubes of tube paste. If I knew that, I wouldn’t bring mine. They also put a couple of small bottles of decent shampoo and a couple of bottles of shower gel. All were pretty usable and had pleasant scents.

As anticipated, breakfast was served on the ground floor. In that hotel buffet breakfast was quite satisfactory and deserves pleasant remarks. Additionally to basic selections of food, which can be found in other hotels, they offered a hot oat porridge, pancakes, and sausages. Needless to say that there were eggs and omelet. Tea, coffee and milk – everything was there.

All right, now let me summarize my thoughts about this hotel.

Advantages:
• Clean and spotless rooms.
• Excellent bed with outstanding sleep quality.
• Varied and eatable breakfast.
• Good location, especially for the US embassy.

Conclusion: I definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

Stayed here three nights in October.

Clean and nice hotel. Everything works. Easy to walk to city or if you need taxi so it doesn´t cost much to city.

Didn´t try breakfast, but bar in first floor works around the clock. Gin&Tonic and burgers when you need those.

Nothing special, but very good basic-hotel.
I can recommend!

There is a reason why we stay at Accor hotels worldwide and Novotel Yekaterinburg really implemented all principles and values, that the Accor brand stand for.

The staff helped us get tickets to the ballet.

They did our registration for us, without even asking

Meals and service were excellent

We will be back again in a few years as we overland by vehicle thru Russia

Thank you for everything..we could not have wished for better service

This was my first visit to Russia, so wasn't quite sure what to expect. The hotel was pretty new, with spacious rooms and comfortable beds. Staff all spoke some English, but even where we didn't have the right vocal, we muddled through because they were so friendly.

Buffet breakfast was varied and filling, with pretty good coffee. Location was very central, meaning we could walk everywhere we needed - a welcome break from hotel air-con.
