We were taken here by a relative who lives here and had only been here previously for coffee but thought the menu looked good. She was not wrong!
We 4 arrived at about 10pm after going to the ballet and were the only people in there. Nevertheless the owner made us feel so welcome and suggested so things from the menu that she thought we might like and she wasn't wrong either.
We had 2 pâtés and 2 Thai salads between us as a starter, all delicious, then 3 had a pearl pasta dish and 1 gnocchi. All very tasty and, although the portions looked small, they were very filling.
Service was excellent and although one of our party spoke Russian they spoke in English and had English menus.
Although we did not have any wine, the wine menu was extensive and covered all tastes, even if a little bit expensive but I suspect it was very good quality.
We only ordered 2 sweets, both hot but they came back saying there was a problem with the power and could only do cold sweets. We declined those but ordered coffees instead.
These arrived quickly but, to our surprise, the chef came out and prepared liquids nitrogen formed ice-cream by way of an apology to us. Totally unexpected but such a nice gesture. It was the perfect ending to what had already been an extraordinary day for us.
Such a pity we had to leave the next day. Highly recommended.
