Our tour group stopped here and, though the faithful are required to cover their heads upon entering, we were exempted. The cathedral interior is a delight to all senses, including one's spirit. We were allowed to purchase and light candles. We were also permitted to take photographs, which was forbidden in the cathedrals at the Kremlin and in the greater Moscow area.

This is a wooden cathedral that is being renovated. While not completely done, it is an amazing building to see. The inside is lovely with lots of paintings. Women need to wear head scarves inside so bring one. The garden has lots of flowers and is very peaceful. Worth a visit.

A beautiful setting, a peaceful spot and a chance to reunite with a religious we met on the TransSiberian railroad headed to Irkutsk. The iconography in the Church is consistent with many of the churches in the City. The grounds of the monastery are pleasant to walk through,
