Located just around the corner from the major street. If you walk in the other direction, you will find pleasant greenery, Post office, supermarkets, small specialty shops and lots of delightful old wooden houses.
It is easy to catch a tram, bus or trolley bus that stop about 150 metres from the hotel on the surrounding streets.
Though not very high, the hotel has lifts. There are some travel agents offices on the ground floor and the hotel can book you a car with a driver to take you to places of interest, airport, train station or lake Baikal. All at very reasonable prices that are lower than what we were charged by a taxi we caught in the street.
A restaurant that serves breakfast and then remains open all day is on the ground floor. Laundry service is good, fast and cheap.
The staff are very pleasant and helpful. They also allowed us to store our luggage while we went to lake Baikal. ATM machine is also in the lobby and the hotel takes credit/debit cards.Rooms are very clean and the staff is dependable and pleasant.

A small and relaxed hotel well located in Irkutsk. The personnel in the reception spoked English and was very helpful. We didn't eat breakfast but the hotel restaurant was full booked in the evening. The hotel is just 10 min away with taxi from railway station. Ju can also get from station with tram #1

Dear guest,
Thank you for choosing our hotel for your accomodation in Irkutsk. Also thank you very much for time, you have found, for giving us a feedback. To be honest, we are proud of our location. It is easy for guests to reach any corner of Irkutsk. Please use tram # 1 from railwaystation, bus # 80 from airport to get to hotel. Our restaurant is very popular among foreign tourisits, because of Russian cuisine. We will be glad to see next time!

There are too many things wrong with this hotel for any English speaker to stay here - there are better values for your money such as hotel victoria in the city. First problem - the check in process. When we checked in - or tried to anyways- the front desk checked in two other groups before us even though they arrived AFTER we did. The second issue is that while they say they speak English, they really don't. After a long train ride or plane ride you don't feel like having to communicate via smartphones especially when cheaper options in town have fluent help. Third problem - the hotel staff would knock quickly then open the door. Fourth problem - there were three people at the front desk but only one person (the girl) was actually working - perhaps that is normal here in Russia???? The rooms are spacious enough but I wouldn't say they are a great value for the price. Stay some place else that understands service and speaks English.

Dear lostinthesouth,
Thank you very much for your feedback. It is useful not only for our guests, but also for management staff. Sorry, that we could not serve you good. Last month we have changed 100 % of the staff. I am so sorry, that you have been visited us in this adoptation period. We will do our best to change the situation. If you next time will need English speaker support in solving problems, I am always behind the staff. I hope, that you really enjoy our town and lake Baikal.

nice location. walkable distance to city center, bus stops & more. calm at night.
i believe it is Russian problem that central area is lack of attractions hardly find nice restrant near though it is around the city/province center, commercial banks and offices. Russian seems to bring lunch boxes. few pizza houses only. i just want to try Russian food than pizza in Russia. we can reach a block filled in restaurants and a mall by walking about 10 to 15 minutes, though.

although building looks boring, room is quite spacious, clean & approaching modern. my room is on 5th and close to elevater. some of facilities is bit disappointed. water from shower seems to be fine. considering its price, it helps budget trip for foreigners. though reading some complaints here, overall it is better than expected. wish hotel not hike price soon. bad is communication! receptionist is touchingly polite but just talks few english word. no English in the restaurant. I didnot figure out its name is "RUS" hotel from hotel's sign board, seeming 5 letters in Russian.

We booked the hotel on hotels.com and even payed in advance. But once we got there, the lady at the front desk said they had no rooms available so we had to move to another hotel which took us 15 min by car. I can't even rate the facililty because I never got a chance to stay there. She didn't even explain us why it happened and kept saying it wasn't her fault. But giving us the wrong location of the second hotel on google map was definitely her fault. Looks like the hotel doesn't know anything like trust.
