We stayed for only for a night and had problems to solve with our foreign registered car. The receptionist went out of their way to help us. Excellent service there. (A bit slower at the bar & restaurant). This hotel is very well managed and a delight to stay in, in rough winterly Siberia.

This is really a great Marriott Courtyard. Everything you would expect is done well. The staff here are truly spectacular however. Especially the front desk, they were wonderfully helpful in all manner of requests from arranging cars, combining a couple disparate reservations and just being plain helpful, nice and professional. To find a complaint, I will mention the location. It is a bit far removed from the hot spots in town such as the intersection of Karl Marks and Lennin streets. Its not a horrible walk but I imagine taxis will be in order for most travelers. On a return trip, I would stay here again.

This is a new hotel on the outskirts of the city, closer to the train station, but still definitely within walking distance to the main part of the city. Staff are really welcoming and warm, and speak excellent English, which is not always a given. The rooms are well-appointed with new TVs and clean bathrooms. Wifi is not free in the rooms (they really need to change this!), but it is in the lobby downstairs. Breakfast in the downstairs restaurant is not cheap, but it is up to the standard of all Marriott hotels. It is a good choice when you've had your fill of gloomy Russian hotels.

As a Marriott client, we would expect a lot more from this chain in Russia; it is definitely not a good cost/value hotel. The rooms and all the public areas were nice, but the service was quite faulty (a little agressive with the luggage, forgetting to deliver one of our passports by the reception); we were quite surprised that breakfast was not included (different to all other Russian hotels) and internet use is charged and...for each device used!!!; as we used 2 iPhones and a PC in the room, we were charged 3 times the internet rate....be aware.... the reception cancelled one of the charges, so we paid for 2 internet connections (same day) - never encountered this "creativity" before...

It was my first stay at this hotel and I am sure I will stay at Marriott Courtyard only when I come to Irkutsk again. It is not ideal and they will probably need some time to make it a real Marriott but my stay was very pleasant in general. The only moment that dissapointed me was that nobody made up my room at all. I don't know the reason: probably they thought that I would anyway leave the next day but it was my first experience of this kind with Marriotts ever. I have stayed at de luxe room and it was perfect and not overpriced at all. The bathroom, the new coffee machine, a comfortable bed - all was perfect. The sound isolation could be better but it was still acceptable. Both the restaurant ( Place to meet) and the bar are perfect and the local menu at the restaurant is highly reccomended. Fresh mushrooms from the forest and fish from Baikal are fantastic. I should say that it is better than the regular Courtyard's restaurants and it doesn't matter if you order something local or international.

Stayed in Dozens of Hotels in the Far East of Russia and this is by far the best. Full Western Standard, helpful Staff, comfy rooms, will stay here again on my next visit. Just wish Marriot would put a hotel in Vladivostok.

Price is very good too!

We stayed at this hotel for one night during our Trans-Siberian Honeymoon trip. On arrival the staff were very helpful and unfailingly polite. We had the Business lunch which was good value and good quality. We also ate dinner at the hotel and it was, again, very pleasant. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, this hotel should be proud of its staff members.
The room was nice, reasonably sized and clean. The fast free wifi in the lobby was invaluable. We very much felt that this hotel was as good as many hotels in cities in Europe.
Would recommend.
