“Hotel of Ill Repute”
Reviewed October 21, 2012

Despite being one of the largest and popular hotels in this city, we saw that a good chunk of it was devoted to prostitution and the sex trade. Ladies of the night and their customers filled the lobby and outside areas. It was a bit disturbing to our group.

The rooms are small, not well-kept and had flashing lights that screamed through the flimsy curtains on the windows, making sleep difficult. There were also river bugs in the room that gravitated to the walls and lights.

I would not ever stay here again.

Room Tip: Just don't even bother to stay here.

Stayed here only for a night while in the region. Check-in was super quick and we were in our rooms in no time. The check in staff spoke good English and made the whole process that much easier. Rooms were of a moderate size and pretty functional. The room had a small balcony overlooking the river.

From what i understand the hotel has been around for a bit, but the rooms have been done up recently. So looking at the exterior of the hotel, things can be a bit deceiving, although all's definitely ok on the inside. The rooms came with individual split air conditioning units and so not it's centrally air-conditioned. The bathroom was on the small side, but manageable none the less.

A reasonably large buffet was laid out for the breakfast and things can get pretty busy here in the mornings. There's a 24 hour supermarket as well right next door, which is pretty convenient as well. All in all, a comfortable & good stay.

It was not bad really. Service was not excellent, but good enough. But I saw that ppl had some problems with a long waiting for check in. Probably it depends on the staff working in the day you arrive. If you're not fan of dice I wouldn't recommend this hotel for first trip to Nizhny.
Some parts of the hotel looked really old. But it was probably already changed for a year.
The view from the rooms is FANTASTIC!

Hotel complex with a good location and great view.

Hotel is rather old but some renovation at lobby etc made it nicer. Staff spoke english and also looked great :) Some value for rather high price..

Take a room from the top.

Staff VERY accommodating.Fast check in.Coach parties stop here at night so might be a bit slower but just be more forceful and but in.Asked for a room looking towards River Volga and was given a room on floor 8 next to a living area(Lounge) which provided fantistic views towards the River Volga,Breakfast was the best on my Tour and included fruit, breads, hot food and cereals. They really put on a good spead which could no be beaten.Irish bar and restaurant on ground floor.Wedding parties are held here at weekends 40 inch television in bedroom.Staff speak English who can give details of local buses.I think the no 78 runs from bus/train station past hotel to River Boat house for cruises along Volga and Kremlin.15 rouble fare.No complaints.

Room Tip: Ask for room overlooking River Volga.

This hotel recently was renamed to Marins Park Hotel, but this does not help at all. Arrived at 11 p.m., stayed 1,5 hours in the queue for check-in. Staff is very slow and inefficient. This is the closest hotel to Nizhegorodskaya Yarmarka, the exhibitions and trade fairs place, and because of general lack of decent hotels in Nizhny, they does not care too much about service.
Try to avoid this one if you can, there are several much better hotels in Nizhny to enjoy.

Very close to Nizhegorodskaya Yarmarka and within walking distance from railway station. Comfort rooms and tasty breakfast. But in my opinion this hotel is a bit overpriced.
