We enjoyed the Nevsky Forum very much. The staff at the desk was excellent, arranging tours for us, etc. Breakfast was quite good, a buffet plus made-to-order, though we thought the "American breakfast" with scrambled eggs and french fries was amusing! But there were lots of other offerings, too. Nest to a metro stop, and we used the metro every day. Our room was quiet and comfortable, and we had email access in the lobby. Great base for exploring St. Pete!

Room Tip: Interior rooms are quieter - Nevsky is a busy street.

We spent the weekend for my birthday in two suites – one for my family of four (younger kids) and another next to it for my parents. On arrival the hotel had left me a really nice birthday gift (a simple craft they made that was very personal). The staff was warm, welcoming, helpful. The rooms super clean, comfortable. Not opulent but extremely nice (though again we were in suites).

Please don’t stay here if you are the overly hard to please, uncompromisingly demanding and mean. I don’t want you to harm these delightful people who clearly love what they do and enjoy hosting patrons.

Thanks Hotel Nevsky for making our long weekend in Saint Petersburg super enjoyable!

I was a little surprised by this hotel. Firstly, I wouldn't have rated it 4-star. Our room was small, very utilitarian, and had something that looked like lino on the floor. The lighting in the room was inadequate and the room in general really did look like something out of the 70s, although it was clean. The bathroom was OK, with space for toiletries, but the water temperature in the shower was variable and there seemed to be some risk of overflow in the shower basin. The room safe was not bolted down. I struggled with breakfast although there was a good selection of cooked options. The cereal was sweet, the porridge oily, and bread for toast limited. I could order a 'fitness breakfast' option with yoghurt and fruit salad. The Thursday afternoon complimentary 'Bliny and Vodka' was great though, if a little unguided.

The location was not bad - a very good walk from the main city sites around the Hermitage area but right next to a Metro entrance. Good (local) supermarket around the corner and more expensive Stockmann down the road.

The staff tried hard and the desk manager helped us out with our lost luggage. Her English was fine and we had no issues there.

Room Tip: Tip about the hotel - the entrance is easy to miss so just look out for the (small) sign and numberi...

Dear Antip0de,

we thank you for staying at our hotel and we appreciate your feedback much.

Nevsky Forum position itself as a business hotel, it has been working for only 6 years. The selected rooms’ design we have associated as so-called Scandinavian style – calm, but practical, non-irritant and contributes to proper rest, we built the hotel with care of our guests. We regret that you evaluated the room’s interior as “something out of the 70s”.

During the reconstruction we used only natural materials: floors in all rooms are made of cork – not lino (which is eco material and less harmful as carpeting), lobby zone is made of landscape granite from Brazil.

Thank you for your remark regarding the water temperature and the shower basin – we took all necessary measures to exclude such unpleasant occasions in the future.

As you rightly noted we have central location: 400 meters from the Moscow railway station, huge shopping malls are around the hotel, many restaurants (24 hours open), bars and cafes.
Thank you once again for your review.

If you have any questions or requests, please, feel free to contact me through our hotel Facebook page.

At the rates we were paying for this hotel I expected it to have at least some hint of luxury. However, the rooms kind of felt like you were in a converted office or classroom or something. They had all of the right amenities but it just felt a bit cheap. This is the only place I've stayed in Russia though, so although I thought the value for money was not good it could just be the market.

The location is great, loads of good restaurants around and a short walk to the canal.

The reception staff, Alexander in particular was very helpful and went over and above the call of duty to help us plan our activities in St. Petersburg, as well as guarding the door after some guy tried to rob us outside (long story- not the hotels fault- moral of the story is get the hotel to book cabs for you). Breakfast was OK, a few Russian things like cottage cheese pancakes alongside cereal and eggs.

Overall a comfortable stay and good location but if the 5-star places are the same price I'd probably go there next time. I think these guys might be sneaking in a cheeky premium due to their good reviews on trip advisor.

Dear Sandst0rm,

Thank you for your travelers’ experience that you’ve shared with the travel community of Tripadvisor.

We position Nevsky Forum as a business hotel, not luxury or boutique hotel. We have Design rooms and Grand Suite Forum which are really special and different from other rooms, but all rooms in our hotel are designed in the same style of business concept.

We thank you that you’ve mentioned our location (in the very close to Moscow railway station and in 15 meters from the entrance to the metro station "Mayakovskaya"), breakfast and helpful staff.

Moreover we follow up all reviews attentively as they help us to improve our service, no matter what place we take on Tripadvisor.

Also we’d like to mention, that when you reserve a room in a 5 star hotel the price can be different from the confirmed one because of an additional cost of hotel services (usually breakfast is not included in the price, some hotels provide Wi Fi for extra payment, transfer service is more expensive).

Thank you once again for your review.

If you have any questions or requests, please, feel free to contact me through our hotel Facebook page.

This hotel is right in the middle of a main, bustling street. The entrance is small, but the hotel itself is lovely. The rooms are spacious and very modern and clean. The staff was very helpful, and, contrary to previous reviews, spoke fluent English. They helped us get cabs and took care of anything we needed. I admit, if you are a light sleeper, you may want a room away from the main street as the noise could be an issue. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

Room Tip: As for a room away from the street.
