This is an older renovated hotel. First impressions walking down the very long hall to our room were of Darkness - a low ceiling, dark green carpet and many dark wood doors to pass gave this impression. Our room was cramped with insufficient space for clothes. The bathroom was small but adequate - although the sink plug wasn't tight. TV small and limited English channels.
The breakfast room on the 9th floor has a great view and lots of light. The food was OK not great although the omelet bar was good. Fruit sald consisted of mostly chopped up apples.
There was quite an international clientale - some from the US, some Russians, British, men with women/wives in Muslim robes.
The staff were great from check in, to the Concierge(s) and the Customer Relations personnel. Housekeeping seemed to do a good job. We ordered food in the Lobby bar - a limited menu and rather slow for the order to arrive but quality OK. Free WIFI in the room but no secure wifi available.
Location good. We could walk to theatres etc. were really glad we were not on Nevsky Prospect as it's crowded and noisy.More
